Will this detect through tiled walls?

It probably will, but it’s a bit temperamental in its accuracy, myself I wouldn’t use it again I’ll probably invest in a better one like the Bosch, good luck with your project.

Does this work on brick?

I’ve only used it to detect electrical cables behind brick, but it worked as advertised when doing so.
