Gnostic Gospels
I believe these gospels are the truth and they will set you free. GNOSTICISM is a very holy concept the inner heaven one can find and visit is amazing. The establishment of the Roman Catholic Church and the elimination and burning of these wonderful gospels was an attempt to kill the truth. The Father the Eternal Spirit have back the truth for this generation in 1945. So please read and meditate on every word and it will set you free because it is the truth!

Fascinating !
It’s an eye opener. It goes into angels names, underworlds, realms , cosmos etc. Mormons will probably love it with its 72 heavens, more gods above creator god. Thing to remember in critical text, scholars look at writings of the 27 books in the New Testament have more weight to them with literally thousands and thousands of manuscripts. The gnostics , not so much. So they go with what has more of the same style for canon. Approach everything with an open mind. Remember Paul did say Christian’s were teaching another Christ - was he talking about the Gnostics?!?

Definitely a must read if you've studied Christian theology
Having studied theology, primarily Christian theology, I was acquainted with Gnosticism and the gnostics texts through secondary sources. It was only upon reading this book that I realised I had been taught an extreme caricature of Gnosticism. Gnostic thought, albeit with its limits, is a robust and insightful way of thinking. These texts are very interesting and provide a fascinating insight into the thought and theologising of the 1st and 2nd centuries (albeit in a specific geographical setting). Additionally, the way they have been translated in this particular book is very enjoyable, accessible, and easy to read.It was very intriguing to note the similarities between this text and more "eastern" philosophies (notably the Dao De Jing). It makes me wonder whether the classic separatism that exists between "western" and "eastern" philosophies is a fallacy and that philosophy and thought were much more intermingled than previously considered.

Food for thought
This is a most interesting book. It lays out the background and there is a commentary on each saying. I haven't quite finished it yet as I want to think carefully about each page as I progress. I will definitely be reading this several times. It it inspiring.

Strange book
I've read quite a few Christian books now and was looking forward to reading this. I read some other reviews and I suppose they may have read it in a different way. The book waffles on with pointless parables nonsense sayings which I didn't find inspirational at all. The gospel of Thomas was a great disappointment to me. Mary Magdalene portion of this book was forgettable. I did how ever really enjoy THE SOPHIA OF JESUS CHRIST section which reminded me of the book of Enoch, which used the same sort of language. I may read this again as it's a short book, it's the first Gnostic Gospel book I've read so I may read some others to get a balanced view. Overall it's one book of countless Christian books. I will just say as a Christian who's faith is failing, the Gospel of John is the most inspirational text I've read so far.

Invaluable book.
If you haven't already read it you should. It is a wealth of spiritual content and gives the intelligent reader a new perspective on the Bible and traditional Christian doctrine.
