By far the best scuba compass I’ve found
Not making a fashion statement with this but it is designed for functionality. I find this compass very accurate and easy to read.

Hard to read
I've been trying different dive compasses and have only three simple criteria: Have to be clearly legible, Accurate, and well made. I wanted to like this compass as it is well made and very accurate. However, I have lousy vision and I can't see the lubber line. The compass card isn't white, but has a greenish tint, considerably decreasing the contrast with the headings. Finally, inexplicably, the Bezel is a grey / silver plastic with black numerals, making quick reading impossible (for me). Great compass if you have great vision.

Very dissapointed in how it lasted
Bought the Suunto SK7 wrist mount about a year and half ago. Had about 40ish dives on it when it crapped out. Plastic lubber line cover lost its seal and miner oil leaked out and salt water leached into the housing. The last couple of days of the latest dive trip, we went on several shore dives where there was a lot of sand getting into the equipment when coming ashore. Bezel was a little hard to turn at that time but considering what I paid for this compass I thought it would have held up better than it did. Contacted Suunto North America and Aqualung customer support and was told by both that the one year warranty had expired and I had no option of replacement. The only option was to repair the compass. After reading about a lot of people raving about this compass on line, I was really disappointed in it not being able to handle a little adverse conditions especially for the premium price that you pay for them. I was really expecting to get a lot of years of use from this compass. I definitely cannot recommend this piece of equipment

Gold Standard Dive Compass
This is the standard by which other dive compasses are measured. It's durably built, easy to use, and it always points north. Unless you bought the southern hemisphere model. :-) The compass card is luminescent, however, it is a little difficult to get fully charged. You need to let it spend all day soaking up the sun. Then, yes, you can be in a 100% sealed, darkened room and find your way around. The strap is a little difficult to work with as others have noted. However, it's not that big of a deal. You can remove the strap as well, and convert it to a retractor mount, or make your own strap from bungee cords.

Suunto SK7 Wrist Compass
Initially, I thought this compass was excellent. Best feature was that it would continue to indicate North at a cosiderable angle, when other compasses did not.Other compasses, would lock at an angle, this one kept free floating at an angle. The only problem I had was that after one week, the floating compass locked in a tilted condition. This renedered it unoperational and had to return it...

Does what it says at a good price.
worked great. Used it right out of the box for my underwater navigation class and it got me where I needed to go in low visibility.
