Excellent external keyboard
Great external keyboard for Macbook Air M1. I decided to create a "dock" with external monitor, etc., and this keyboard is great. Very easy to set up. The TouchID is awesome, so it replicates how I access the laptop without the keyboard. Very lightweight and easy to move around on the desk when I need more space. Battery charge lasts quite a long time. Arrived in great condition. Love it.

Works As Advertised But Disappointed With Apple's Implementation of Touch ID
This refurbished actual Apple OEM keyboard works perfectly, just as advertised. However, I was surprised to find out that the "Touch ID" function -- which is the whole reason I bought this -- is really quite limited by Apple. At least on the newer operating systems, you cannot use touch ID to log in from a cold reboot, for example. You still have to manually type in your password and there is no getting around it.In fact there are a lot of situations where you'd think you should be able to use touch ID, and where it would be extremely handy and much easier than having to repeatedly manually type in your password repeatedly, where it's simply not enabled -- intentionally, by design. There were a few, and I mean a VERY few, situations where it did give me the option of using touch ID, when repeatedly asking for permissions to allow certain programs and plugins to install, which, admittedly, would have been a nightmare without that function, but far too many times, you still have to manually type in your password, and sometimes even have to reboot to enable a program to run. That type of clumsy implementation may marginally enhance security, but it makes the Touch ID feature next to worthless in my opinion.Again, not the fault of this keyboard. It works great! Just another example of terrible usability by Apple which has been coasting on its early reputation of 'usability" for about 20 years now without actually having a well-organized, user-friendly operating system. One last comment I have is that I made the mistake of buying the compact version of this keyboard without the numerical keypad thinking that I really didn't need it and wouldn't miss it (I had previously had the full-sized one, but without Touch ID). I now regret that decision every day. There is an almost imperceptible, possibly even purely psychological, but very real, difference in feel between the two sizes and I find myself still making numerous typing errors even many months later. I just can't seem to get used to how small this keyboard is and, especially when doing things that have to do with finance or banking, I do miss the numerical keypad -- a lot.But again, that's not related to any fault with this actual product. I'm giving this 5 stars because it's exactly what it's supposed to be and works exactly as designed. Unfortunately, Apple needs to go back to the drawing board on a few things having to do with its design.

Love this Mac keyboard. Small and the touch button works great.

Does not hold charge and does not work unless plugged in.
Apple intended this product to be used wirelessly, but this refurb does not work wirelessly. It works fine and even feels/looks new, but cannot connect while unplugged.I can see that there are previous buyers that have had the same issue - are they just resending the same keyboard that isn't working? It's a bit more frustrating considering that they sellers have decided to jack up the price $15 for the Silver version (was $85 and is now $100) - maybe try sending out a functioning product first!I can see the Quality Control sticker on the bottom of the keyboard. Please check if it discoverable in the settings while unplugged. This is a battery issue.Never been more disappointed by an Amazon product.

Basically brand new, and works as expected
Its an apple keyboard, so you probably already know what you are trying to buy. This renewed version is basically brand new. I couldn't find a single fault with it. Was nice to save some money on what is an overly expensive typing device. The keyboard itself is nice, and I like the way the keys press and are not clacky. Great for a work keyboard where you need to type fast without a lot of distance movement, and noise. The TouchID works with my M1 MacBookPro without fault. Which is the main reason I got this keyboard. I needed to replace my prior apple keyboard (which didn't have touch id).The only thing I don't like about this new version of their keyboard, is that the Arrow Keys are different. The Left and Right arrow keys are 'fat', filling in the area. While the old keyboards they used to be thin with a gap you could drop your fingers in to know what you are pushing (without looking down). I will get used to it, but it really is annoying coming from their prior keyboard.

Good keyboard but uses a LIGHTNING cable
Good product at a good price, but the keyboard uses a Lightning connector, not USB-C, as many, many others have mentioned. I don't know why this listing hasn't been updated after so many complaints... Otherwise I'd have given a 5-star rating.

Need to charge often
Function is good but it lasts a little bit short. I need to charge it very often... like every 2 or 3 weeks. My no brand keyboard can lasts twice as long as this one

An Apple product.
Used but amazing conditions, the Touch ID makes it perfect to use with the MacBook closed
