I love cute kits like these and this one is amazing, everything to the custom instructions to the little packaging to the cute idea is amazing 10/2 would buy again

My daughter had been talking about felting for ages. So when this popped up on a deal I grabbed it for her. The day I bought it she had a bad day at work so I had it sent to her. She received it the next day as a I love you gift. She could hardly wait to get into it. Unfortunately she didn’t get to try it until the weekend. She received it on a Wednesday I think. She sent me a pic of the different stages. She said that it was grim and couldn’t wait to try more. So I guess I will be keeping my eye out for more kits until she feels cinfurtsbke enough to do in her own.

This kit came with everything needed to create the orange and white tabby "faceless cat" shown. Included were 3 different colors of wool in different amounts (as much as the seller figures you’ll need to complete the cat), 2 needles (although I almost exclusively used the larger of the two), a small foam block and the instructions. The whole project took me about 4+ hours. All of the online felting videos warn you that you Will stab yourself with the felting needles as you work. I am proud to say that I only stabbed myself once (no blood drawn), and the only reason was because I was looking at the TV at the time, so it could have been completely avoided.I watched the demonstration video on YouTube several times before attempting the cat (the link to the particular type of cat or dog that you order is included in the kit for you), which I would suggest for everyone to do too. The included written instructions are only good as a reminder for maybe what order to do the steps, but it won’t teach you how to felt if you’ve never done it before. I also watched beginner felting videos from someone other than the seller, which also helped to prepare me.If you look at my photos, the cat I made doesn’t look quite like the "Pastoral Cat" that I ordered - this was on purpose. Firstly, the instructions say that the body should be approximately 3.5cm, but I made mine about 6cm long. It worked out well, but the light orange is probably a bit thinner than expected because a smaller amount had to cover a larger surface area. I was making my felt cat to look more like my cat - with white socks on his feet, not much white on the sides, only on the throat and tummy. Also, for a really personal touch (if you look closely at his sides and tail, you'll see it), the stripes and swirls that I added were not made with the dark orange wool included, but with my cat's own fur🐱

This kit was wonderful and easy for beginners. But be warned, your hands will never recover from the stab stab stabbing. That's all needle felting is. Stab. Stab. Stab. Until the end of time. After the bombs fall, the only things that will be left are the cockroaches and my unfinished needle felting project.... so many years wasted. I missed my children's first steps, learning to drive, graduations, grandchildren. All to make this weird cat. So yeah, needle felting isn't for me.

A good kit for beginners! The design only contains simple geometric shapes. The only part I think is a bit difficult is the ear. I finish all three cats and there is still plenty of wool left.

Everything arrived in perfect condition within 3 days of ordering. I would've given this kit 5 stars, except I think that for the price they could've easily included a couple of finger protectors. I think most people stab their fingers, so if you don't already have protectors, you should definitely get some to go along with this kit. Other than that, you can make do with what's included. I also did buy a handle for the needle and some replacement needles. The handle was helpful, but not completely necessary, and I didn't end up breaking any needles, so the extras were another unnecessary purchase. There was enough wool for 2 cats (I only made 1) and enough whisker wire for 1 cat with a little left over.The instructions on the paper that came in the package weren't very good, but watching the recommended video was very helpful, especially if you've never felted before.This was my first time needle felting, and it was pretty easy to do, except that I have very shaky hands, so the really tiny pieces (ears and tail) were harder for me to do. It's kind of a "tedious" craft, but I imagine that once I get better at it, it'll go faster and the results will be better. I'd recommend it mostly to adults, but I could see careful, patient kids (maybe 10 and up?) enjoying this, too.

I chose this as my first needle felting kit. I thought something like this, one color and faceless, might make for a good first project, and I was right.The instructions that came with the kit weren't particularly helpful, so I ended up watching a Youtube video instead. My cat ended up looking nothing like the picture (its feet were bigger, tail was thicker, and I positioned the ears a little differently), and I was never able to get the plastic whiskers in, but I liked it a lot anyway. I'm not sure if I made it the right size since I had lots of wool left over, but I suppose I can use that in some other future project.As far as what the kit includes, I suppose it technically has everything you need. In order to needle felt, all you really need is the wool, a mat to reduce the likelihood of breaking your needle, and the needles themselves. Still, in my opinion a needle felting handle is useful if you don't want your hand/fingers to cramp up, and finger guards are vital, and this kit doesn't come with any of that.

This kit is great for beginners! The video tutorial is very easy to follow. The needles are very sharp, I wish this kit came with finger guards. But other than that, it's amazing (:

Contains plenty of wool roving for the project- I made two. Only one set of whiskers but they're still both cute. Doesn't teach much about how best to approach needle felting, but it got me addicted!
