GPS Action Remote

Yeah, it works great. But the battery will only last about 5 or 6 hours when left on. I ended up switching to a secondary market switch that got rid of the power sucking screen.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to buy this for my Insta360. It's impossible to start/stop the camera while riding a motorcycle, but this makes it easy. As a bonus, you get all sorts of data that you can overlay on the video.

It's better than using phone to connect because the phone needs to be always on and the connection usually breaks for phone. The connection between this remote the 360 is reliable and it's really fast to wake it up. The only thing is sometime the connection will be lost and you have to reconnect it again. But overall it does job. I just wish gps can be build in 360 so that we don't need a remote to track gps.

This remote eliminates the need to use your phones gps to gather stats while shooting footage. I use it with the x4 air and it so easy to use. The buttons are big enough to push with snow gloves. The battery lasted an entire day on the mountain. Pairing it is easy and it has great range.

First of all, the remote can only be used to turn on and off camera if it is paired and linked to the camera. However, whenever the battery is replaced (after charging) the remoted needs to be relinked (no need to pair it again) to the camera by power on the camera and the remote. Otherwise, the remote will not be able to function at all (if the camera has the battery and enabled the wake by bluetooth... the remote will not wake up (turn on) the camera! Secondly, the remote has very limited function; most of the functions in camera can not be accessed (changed or switched to) using the remote; Last but not the least, trying to turn on the camera (when it is linked as stated above) it takes quite long to wake up the camera which is very annoying. And it does lose connection once awhile. Basically, if you need a remote just to turn on and off the camera...it might work (most of the time). With that said, this product needs some major bug fix or upgrade for the price it is selling. judged based on the usefulness, the cost of this remote should not be more than $25!

As soon as I unboxed this I thought to myself "This is a terrible wrist band." Sure enough, it lasted about two hours until it fell off and was lost. However, losing this expensive remote would turn out to be the best thing that could have happened to it. My Insta360 works WONDERFULLY in the water, but this remote made my camera USELESS in water. The moment the camera or remote are in the water the connection is lost. This is not completely unexpected, but what is unexpected is that the recording stops as soon as the remote disconnects. It also seems like the remote connecting and disconnecting unlocks the touch screen, which will suddenly start reacting to moisture, allowing phantom changes of the settings and modes. This remote completely ruined a bunch of footage for me, and was extremely frustrating to use on the water. The moment the terribly designed wrist band let go and allowed the remote to sink to the bottom of the lake my Insta360 X4 began working PERFECTLY.

Bought this so that I can film my car journeys on holiday, using the X3 on the outside of the car. Using this remote I can now turn my unit on and off without having to keep pulling over and switching the unit on and off manually. This gives me longer battery life and the benefit of recording the stats of my journeys. It’s also great for when I am hiking as it gives me all the stats embedded on my footage. It is a little expensive so took a while for me to decide if I could justify the cost but after using it I think it makes the process of using the X3 so much easier

Excellent lorsque la caméra est hors de portée. Je l’utilise avec le X5 lorsqu’elle est utilisée comme dashcam ou lors de mon dernier voyage en Afrique lors de nos safaris (photo). Pas besoin de l’autre modèle plus cher avec l’écran vidéo.
