Beautiful Colour
Really pleased with this dye, it was used to dye my husband's shorts. Firstly we used Rit to take the colour out of the shorts, then dyed them with this colour. It's a really nice blue when finished but when they dried there was a little streaking in parts, so I ordered another packet & redid then. The results were much better on the second attempt so quite impressed. I only used 5 litres of water in the process which was plenty to keep turning them. I rinsed & spun them after & they look great

not good
I followed all the instructions and put 2 white shirts in to dye and left them over night. I then took them out of the dye and 1 shirt is very pale blue and the other one was pale lilac but strange thing is the label with the instructions for the shirt was a perfect blue so not sure what happened very dissaponited also the dye was deep mauve I have never seen a sea mauve so maybe the producers put in the wrong dye colour

Experiments in dying
I wanted some linen trousers for summer and was only finding linen blends with man made fibres, which defeats the purpose of buying linen to keep you cool! Eventually I did find some white linen only trousers with an open tropical pattern on and decided to buy multiple pairs and dye them. I opted for fresh orange, ocean blue and smoke grey. I followed the instruction re weighing fabric and found I had enough capacity to dye a cotton vest to match each pair also. The results may help others on making a decision, so here goes. The stitching did not change colour on any of the garments, but I think that is because most garments are sewn with polyester thread as it is strong, the dye works best on natural fibres. The linen fabric took the dye more strongly than the cotton which surprised me, thought this actually looks quite nice as an outfit as it looks more tonal. The grey covered the print most effectively and the blue enhanced the green on the tropical print, with a pleasing effect. Overall the colours are lovely and I was pleased with the outcome, the orange is a little brighter than I expected, but lovely on a sunny day (looks a bit men at work when cloudy!) I would recommend stirring/agitating for the full 15 minutes, as per the instructions as I did notice a difference in colour saturation as the time went on during this part of the process. I am moving on to experimenting dying coloured item next so will update this review with those results.

Don’t use on wool
This product said it was suitable for wool on the Amazon site, but when we received the dye, it said not suitable for wool. Nevertheless, we tried it following the instructions to the letter and found that it is not, definitely not in any way of usefor dying wool.

Exceeded expectations
Behold, the humble packet of fabric dye, a alchemical concoction promising to transmute the mundane into the magnificent. In this particular instance, the subject of its transformative powers was a pair of jeans, described by their online purveyor as "light blue," a descriptor that, upon arrival, proved to be about as accurate as a goblin's promise. "White" was a far more fitting epithet, and as we all know, trousers of such pristine, unblemished hue are simply not to be borne by anyone with a modicum of good sense or a tendency to interact with the real world. One might as well walk around with a target painted on one's posterior. Faced with this sartorial predicament, the only sensible course of action was a dip in the magical waters of dye. The available palette, it must be said, was not a symphony of delights. Indeed, it seemed to have been curated by someone with a profound appreciation for all things... well, dye-like. Yet, amidst the myriad shades, a beacon of hope, or at least the least offensive option, emerged: Sea Blue. One imagined vast, churning oceans, or perhaps a rather deep pond on a particularly cloudy day. And what a delightful surprise awaited! For when the deed was done, when the jeans had emerged from their chromatic baptism, they were not the brooding, intense "sea blue" one might have imagined from the picture. Oh no, the resulting tone was far more delicate, a whisper of a wave rather than a roaring tempest. It was, dare one say it, perfect. Lighter than anticipated, it transformed the erstwhile ghastly white into something truly, remarkably good. A testament, perhaps, to the often-unforeseen glories that can spring from a decision born of sheer necessity and a touch of desperation. These jeans, once a monument to misdescription, now sail forth with a newfound dignity.
