Mopeka Tank Check LED Gauge Display - New Silver Reprogrammable Model - Mounts in Dash/Control Cabinet to Provide Wireless Indicator for RV Propane Tank Levels

After 3 years of guessing how much propane I had and removing and taking tanks to be filled partially full I bought this LED indicator along with the universal magnetic sensors (on separate orders). First I downloaded the app, then I installed the sensors and sync'd the app and the indicator. Super easy, both worked perfectly and read within seconds, IMO they both match (see the pics). The price was very reasonable and the order was delivered quickly (just in time for an upcoming trip). I mounted the indicator using command strips. I just to be sure everything was accurate I swapped the sensors and had the same results. Be sure you read the instructions and you should not have any issues. The only thing of concern is the sensors small magnets, time will tell if they hold up and don't slip.

The LED display works exceptionally well. The display itself is very sharp and vivid with clear resolution. Far superior to the legacy 5 led display. The unit was easy to setup, I recommend watching the setup video. The use of the 2 buttons for navigation seemed confusing in the instructions, but made perfect sense when you are in there using it. Setup took only a few minutes for both tanks. One thing to note!! There is an updated application from Mopeka. The older app (Mopeka Tank Check) has been replaced by a new application (Mopeka Co-Pilot). This new application is far superior, contains more content and supports firmware updates to all units including the LCD display. The old application will still work but I noticed a variance in reading between the old app and the new LCD display. Mopeka support was extremely helpful and prompt. They informed me of the updated application and now I am extremely happy with the product.

I could not find any information about connecting this to the water sensor. It works well with the propane sensor but I wish they made it work for the water sensor as well. I only have one tank and I purchased a water sensor hoping it would work with that. I can confirm it does not. But as far as working with the propane, it does a good job. It is not as accurate as the phone app but gives you a visual reading when your phone is not available.

This is a really good product and it works very well. I wish it was just a little bit larger in diameter and I wish they sent you extra screws for mounting the base that goes with it. These screws are tiny and I’d dropped one never to be found again the reason I gave it four stars is size and extra mounting screws would be great.

Convenient to have

Despite claims of compatibility with 120-gallon vertical tanks, this product is fundamentally flawed for that specific application. Installation Failure: The setup requires tilting the tank to clean the bottom surface and mount the ultrasonic sensor. For a stationary 120 GL vertical tank, this is physically impossible and a major safety hazard. Unless your tank is empty and unhooked, you cannot install this as directed. Poor Hardware Resolution: The dedicated LED display only shows fuel levels in quarters (25% increments). For a tank of this volume, that resolution is far too coarse to be useful for precise fuel management or identifying usage trends. Design Oversight: The manufacturer seems to have designed this for small, portable DOT cylinders and simply "upscaled" the compatibility list without considering the physical reality of fixed residential/commercial tanks. Bottom Line: If you have a large, fixed vertical tank, do not buy this. The installation requirements are unrealistic, and the on-device data resolution is subpar. I returned mine immediately without even attempting to fight the physics of a 500lb tank.

I bought two Mopeka Pro Check Propane Sensors from Amazon on 18 April 2023. I used these sensors to provide propane levels in the two 30-pound propane tanks mounted on either side of my fifth wheel RV. The two sensors provided propane level information wirelessly to the (free) Mopeka Tank Check app via Bluetooth. This arrangement worked very well. I bought a new fifth wheel RV in 2024 and moved the Mopeka propane tank sensors from the “old” propane tanks to the “new” propane tanks (both sets were 30-pound tanks). On 17 December 2024, I bought a Mopeka LCD Display Gauge from Amazon, and I installed it a couple of days ago. The Mopeka Tank Check app still works fine; however, I can now push a button on the wireless LCD display mounted inside the RV and get an immediate read-out of the propane level by tank (in terms of percent full and gallons remaining). Mounting the LCD bracket was a no-brainer (two very small screws). The display is held in place on the mounting bracket via magnets. Again, another good, functional wireless design. I am quite pleased with these Mopeka products. They take the guess work out of trying to determine propane levels, which is obviously important if you use propane for cabin heat, cooking, and/or heating shower water.

I was in my RV in Montana in the winter. Chewing through propane like a fat kid through Twix bars. I had to get tanks refilled based on feel. With this setup I know how much I have left and when to switch out tank. Also when traveling it makes life easy as I don’t have to pull off the fairing to check levels.

We purchased the Mopeka Tank Check LED wireless Gauge Display about a year ago and are very happy with it. When you set it up make sure to set the meter to the proper tank size and it will work great . It is definitely not as accurate as the phone app but still works for a quick reference when your phone is not available. My wife uses it a lot more than I do as she has not downloaded the Mopeka app to check the sensor levels on her phone . We did have to change the battery at about the one year mark but that is really simple and it takes a common 2032 coin style battery. Set up and mounting the monitor takes about 5 minutes. We used the 3m removalable tape for mounting it, incase we ever want to relocate it. This really paid off when we sold our camper last year and swapped it to our new one in about 5 minutes again . I would definitely recommend this display gauge to anyone already using the Mopeka tank sensors.

Works pretty accurately with my refillable motorhome gas cylinder. Very happy with my purchase.

Excellent product

A friend of mine uses this gauge in his camper and I thought I would give it a try for poops and giggles. I can now walk into my cabin and not have to pull my phone out to see my propane tank level. I use 2 420lb "pigs" and have a sensor on one of them. The tanks are about 70' away through 3 walls from this gauge and it works just fine. I will have to pick up a second sensor now I guess. Great product.
