I bought this to get my very old mini mag working again as it was missing the bulb and tail cap spring. Also the reflector was old and worn so this kit had everything I needed to get the torch up and running again. Let me tell you it doesn’t disappoint. It works perfectly and feels quality. I’d have been happy if I just got the torch running again but the fact it’s running and now LED is a massive bonus. The only negative is that the tail cap is now black and not the anodised red like the rest of the torch but what can you do it’s really not that big a deal. I can’t recommend this enough!

Upgrading an already good torch seems like a no brainer: a better bulb and more convenient switch sound ideal. Bulb upgrade: The reflector and bulb are replaced and generate a much brighter and whiter light. The reflector that I recieved was damaged on arrival although packagaing from manufacturer and seller seemed good so I can only assume that the damage was in the factory and quality control was lacking. Nevertheless the item works just fine. Switch upgrade: Functionality like the bulb is good and the fact that the torch can be used one handed is a definite upgrade. The metal body of the switch is nicely machined aluminium but the actual button itself is plastic and doesn't feel very good quality. It works just fine but I'm dubious how long it will survive in use. Would be nice if the switch was available in colour match options but that's proabbly too much to ask.

Easy to fit and upgrade your AA maglite torch.

The LED is still working fine, but the push button switch stopped working after a few months of very light use. Fortunately I kept the original maglite rear cap to put back on.

The LED kit has given my old Maglite a new lease of life...similar amount of light but long battery life and long bulb life. However, not so impressed with the tail switch. It's made well and works but design is flawed.... if, like me, you keep the torch in your pocket, bag or backpack then the switch is easily knocked on (draining battery) due to light action. Should be recessed. Yes I can rotate torch head to stop this but that's why you want tail switch, no?

I have twenty year old AA Maglite which has been given a new lease of life with the LED and switch. Well made and functional.
