Good Quality Head for Straight Shaft Strimmers.
Oregon make some of the best cutting equipment for garden/commercial machinery.I cannot believe some of the negative reviews. (Probably to do with human error). It clearly states it is for petrol machines under 33cc with a straight shaft and Left Hand Thread. (Most straight shaft machines are LH thread. Most BENT Shaft Strimmers are RH thread as the head rotates the other way).It comes with 4 LH adapters. So I dare say it will fit virtually any straight shaft strimmer.I fitted it in a few minutes to a MitoX 261. Selected and fitted the correct thread adapter for the machine. (M10x1.25LH). Then simply threaded the new head on. No need for tools ( except a thin screwdriver to put in the hole) to lock the head.Absolutely no need to over tighten things (fingers will do). The machines natural rotation will ensure it will not undo itself in use.As for loading the line. Could not be simpler. Line the arrows up with the holes in the very robust metal ferrules and simply push the line through. About 3M of 3mm line. Feed it through so both ends are equal length. Then simply wind the line in by turning the bumphead clockwise as you look at it from the bottom.Could not be simpler.

Good strimmer head, good design reduces line breaks.
Just about to buy my second one after the first one started to wear through the base after 5 years use. Not commercial use but I do at least 2 weeks of hard strimming a year so I don't think that is too bad.I find the supplied Oregon Techni 280 line lasts really well and that combined with the profile on the eyelets reduces and virtually eliminates line breaks when stimming really tough weeds. I wouldn't use it for old established brambles but its well up to a few brambles as part of a rough job.If you really want to destroy the head tap the head on a hard surface like concrete or tarmac. On really rough work you may find yourself tapping the head on stone and rocks. If you can avoid that it will last much longer.

Slightly off balance
This strimmer head (the larger size) is fitted to a 35cc 4 stroke backpack version, and after a few sessions (about 12 hours work).....- reloading the head was simplicity itself; can also get more line on as you're not fighting springs and/or the bend in the line- I don't use the trimmer head guard.....the head keeps the line in perfect length with the current action of the strimmer, plus it bumps perfectly when you want more line- as this is a backpack strimmer, all angles are available, and the head isn't quite balanced enough to achieve smooth running throughout - get a few wobbles - which is why I marked it down to 4Good overall - waiting to see how long it will last.

Brilliant fitment and operation.
Seems very universal in fitment. The drum will not fit directly. The adapters adapt from the current thread on your machine to the thread in the drum/head. So you fit and tighten the adapter and then screw the head onto the adapter. I can imagine it would fit lots of strimmers but always worth checking your thread size and pitch. My strimmer is a florabest from the middle of lidl and a 43cc strimmer. The method of winding the cord onto the drum is also fantastically simple. Just thread the cord through equally and wind it on. The bump release also works well. A massive improvement over the standard one which had to be taken apart to refill the drum. Worth buying as an upgrade if you have a cheaper head.

Fell off
Great idea and looks good. BUT, once the supplied line was loaded and the head screwed on, I fired up the strimmer (EFCO), it spun well. Turned off the strimmer and the head fell off. Tried a few times, gave up and reloaded my old head, screwing it on in the same way. No issues. The head should be self-tightening!!!The time saved really is minimal.

Works really good
The product appears great so far, it works really well. It's easy to load, once you know how; the information with it is rubbish. look on YouTube for info. Its easy to install on my Still strimer, just remember to put the locking plate on right way.

Poor quality construction and only lasted 10 uses - Edit -new one is working perfectly
Due to all of the good reviews I purchased this item in April 2024.I used it for one season - April to October (Probably 10 uses in total)The bump feed didn't work from day one and I've just come to use it now (May 25) and its bitten the bullet due to one of the retaining clips breaking. Im not impressed to say the least. 10 uses - Not good enough Oregon, very disappointed customer.Edit - I must have had a poorly constructed one as I've just received a new one and its bump feed is working perfectly and its a completely different experience. Maybe a manufacturing error on the first one as this one is absolutely perfect. I will see how durable this one is in the coming months...
