Surprisingly high quality especially at price point
So far so good, once balanced and padded into position it is quiet and efficient, with a good range of editable wash cycles and handy features like the "pause" function (so you can add a latecomer to the drum, which may result in less widowed socks kicking around hopefully) and the self cleaning steam cycle to eliminate the buildup of bacteria that is inevitable in a washing machine drum. Since we have two children, two cats and a dog and a back garden made currently of mud, having no washing machine for 3 days has led to a staggeringly large backlog, however this plucky little machine has taken the job on and has already dispatched most of the pile to the dryer (which is now the bottleneck and running 24hrs a day until we achieve "normal" laundry backlog levels, at which point I will ease up and run that decontamination protocol on the washing machine). It's surprising how much the drum actually holds, our last machine was bigger but finally after a long and faithful service life it died dramatically (the drum split and it was a write-off). However this machine does a better job and is much quieter.

All round good buy.
Rated a best buy by Which and I agree. It has been in constant use since it got installed and it's performed wonderfully well. Quiet during wash cycle and not very loud when spinning. All round good piece of kit.

Great performance and value.
I wanted to wait until I’ve owned this product long enough to give a fair review. I’m extremely pleased with it! The spin cycle is nice and quiet, the door although lightweight and easy to open/close feels robust. There are lots of wash cycles to choose from but in all honesty some will never be used. I agree with other reviewers though on the lack of a fast but proper wash cycle. However, the machine does weigh the load and will reduce wash time if appropriate. There is a 15 min cycle but I’d have liked a slightly longer one for a small load rather than a couple of items. Overall for the price it’s a great machine.

Great for the price
2 month updated review: It's still perfectly functional and I'm more than pleased with it. I love it. The steam function has come in useful after my cat decided to urinate on clean laundry. The drum is so big, I have managed to wash my superking duvet and put it away for the summer. Excellent product. Original review: Generally very pleased. I have an issue with the legs not moving up and down, but it doesn't affect performance at all. A good sized drum. Very quiet. Washes well. I enjoy the steam washes. I had an item which was always a bit fusty even after washing but this machine got it totally clean. It's pleasant to look at and pretty well built.

Broke within 8 months
In general the washer was fine, but it broke within 8 months of purchase. Started making loud mechanical noises and stopped working.

Poor choice of shorter programs, inadequate spin, and small but irritating design issues
I've had this machine a few weeks now and although I was disappointed with it on the first few washes, I delayed a detailed verdict until I'd made more use of it. Unfortunately, it hasn't changed my mind in that time. It was bought because my ten-year-old, very basic, department store own-brand machine had died a noisy death with the smell of burning rubber and I needed something delivered and fitted fast. The Hisense came up first on my search, and I reasoned that if I regretted it later, I hadn't blown a huge sum on it and I could replace it with slightly less pain. And that's where I am now. If there's some magic setting I'm overlooking, let me know. I'm really hoping there is. Basically, there are too many things it doesn't do, or does poorly, that my old wreck coped with just fine. Cons: * Programs: the main ones take two to three hours with no way to reduce time, and there's too little choice of settings. If you want a 35 - 40 minute wash at 60C, you're out of luck. (This has a knock-on effect I'll mention later.) * The 1400 spin speed: fleeces came out of my old machine almost dry after a 1400 spin. With this Hisense, they're still noticeably wet. I always did an extra spin anyway because I don't have outside drying space, but I find I need two extra spins with this to get the same result. * Unhelpful instruction leaflet: I had to trust online videos and reviews on other sites to find some basic information. * Small but annoying stuff: if you have a dark grey dial, putting a dark grey indicator on it might look cool and minimalist but it doesn't help people to see it easily to select the right program, which is the sole reason for the indicator being there. I stuck a bit of white adhesive label on it. * Draining the filter: there's no tube or chute to drain into a container like there is with other machines, so you just have to unscrew the plug with a towel underneath, unless you have enough clearance to slide in a tray or something. This is bad design. Even my old one had a piece of moulded plastic behind the drain door that hinged out to form a chute so you could direct the water into a container. * The detergent drawer: if you use powder, the compartment is narrower than most of the laundry scoops you can get, so adding powder without some spillage is a pain. I ended up getting a small 5 gram measure on a long handle, which takes a bit longer to achieve the right dose but is easier to aim. Pros: well, it looks nice and it's very quiet. It's also cheap, and at the time it beat taking the laundry down to the canal and bashing it on rocks. But here's why I hate the thing. My old machine had a similar number of programs, but on the main wash ones I could set the temperature at 20C, 30C, 40C, 60C, and (on cotton) 90C. I could also reduce the run time from hours to half an hour. I have nothing like that choice with the Hisense, but eventually I realised I could select the quick wash for everything and force a longer run time on it by increasing the temperature – 40C will make it do 30 minutes. But 60C is beyond it. Sixty is the temperature you need to kill germs, and the one I used most, but it's going to take a couple of hours at least with this, whereas my old machine could reduce it to under 40 minutes. (The dark wash program can do 60C in just over an hour, but I haven't used it yet because I'm still trying to find out what the difference is between that and other regular wash programs.) The longer the wash takes, the later I can start drying it, and if you've got a tight schedule it's enough to be a problem rather than a problem-solver. This is what I mean by knock-on effects. Juggling through non-intuitive settings to achieve what very basic washers could do a decade ago hasn't endeared the brand to me. Why not sacrifice one of the steam programs for a more flexible basic wash?

Great washing machine
I bought this as a temporary substitute but I think I won’t buy another washing machine as this is really great! It has all the settings you need and the display shows how long each settings takes which is very convenient. The best thing about this washing machine is that it really is so quiet. Even the spinning process was quiet at higher spin. I never knew I unconsciously felt stressed over the noise of a washing machine until I used this one, the whole experience was so pleasant. It washes clothes so much better than my previous machine as well. I use exactly the same detergent and softener but the clothes come out so much fresher and smells better too. Overall, I can’t be happier with the product. I definitely recommend this over other brands around the same price range.

Lavatrice eccezionale!
