Well built - good quality
I love this iron !! I’ve had a steam generator iron for years, normally a Russel Hobbs one but as the years have gone on, the quality has got worse so I decided to change brands. I’m not disappointed at all. The iron has a good quality feel and makes ironing an absolute pleasure. My top tips would be to make sure the iron has been on for a few minutes before ironing and make sure the water compartment is full before ironing. Unfortunately there is no gauge so I just put 900ml in and stop ironing when it’s finished although you could easily carry on ironing just without the steam. The steam easily lasts for a couple of loads at a time. I’ve got two children so we have a lot of ironing. The steam is excellent.Don’t hesitate with this . It’s amazing !

Good iron !
Absolutely love this iron . Sturdy, strong and iron is nice and comfortable to hold , irons lovely, plenty of steam ! , not lightweight or flimsy . My only flaw is there is no water indicator when filling the reservoir. But apart from that , this is one of the best irons I have had ! Hence 4 stars .

Polti vaporella
Best steam generator iron I’ve ever used got the accessories to go with it A bit heavier than expected but use to it now. Straight forward settings which I leave on high as I use the glide plate accessory which is like magic Would recommend to any one. You just don’t want to have too much ironing to do as it only holds just under a litre of water and can’t refill until cools. Good excuse to stop ironing

Fabulous
Fantastic iron, as I’d hoped from the reviews. Same downside as others have pointed at that there’s no water level visibility. But it holds 900ml and irons on that for approx an hour so I understand. I don’t usually use one that long so it’s only a small issue for me.Surprised at the amount of steam, given there’s only holes at the top of the sole plate ….. but it does a great job so I’m not arguing.Pleased to see such a good brand at an affordable price, literally the cheaper end of the steam generator iron scale which is crazy when you consider how good it is.Purchased the Kalstop to go in it as our water is a little bit hard

The Good and the Bad
The good :- It arrived on time, well packed. Set it up like you see in the picture left, and followed the handbook to set up, exciting right. But, a big but, let’s say we had a few teething and appliance issues. The price though, £69.99 both purchased and supplied by Amazon which makes a difference if you’re a prime member. At the current price and possible postage costs for returns it’s a risk. Oh and it’s 1750W according to the appliance label, a good thing as you get that extra power. OH and on another addition to the review, that Teflon foot you can get for this is great, I can use it on full on black cotton with no shining. Read on if you can cope with all the info. over £100 is to much for this in my opinion but if it’s what you really need, go for it.The Bad so far, as a replacement is on the way so that’s a good thing, they can’t all be faulty right. I’d been looking forward to this for some time as it’s as close to the type of iron for sewing and tailoring I would like, That I could get for a price that’s not going to break the bank for now. Good interim option I’m, thinking. Now, I did see all the negative reviews, but so many items have negative and positive reviews I thought I’d take the chance. I can’t get another faulty item from Amazon surely..ROFL.. the cool down time is a negative as you can’t fill it until it is cool And trust me it takes time, so make sure you have a stand by if it runs out, I’ve just got my old household iron to hand for that. I use constant steam when making binding so, when I’ve got a working one I’ll see how much binding you can create to give the sewers an idea of what it’s capable of for say the amount of seaming / hemming it can do. This should be the perfect option for those wanting to try an iron that represents what a seamstress /. Tailor would use. So pray I get a good one this time please. The picture on the right look closely, you’ll see nasty acrid cold smoke coming up through and around the steam button and the handle. In my lounge, so, not nice.Update. A second arrived, OMG it was a different fault, didn’t seem to seal so it was constantly re heating and letting little put put sounds sounds out, the thermostat was never still. So, I’ve done another exchange and this one, Iron No.3 seems so working ok. No nasty smells and, after allowing the steam to become the right temp no constant letting a little pressure out. I’ll fully test is soon and update on what it’s fully capable of.To those who are thinking of this iron. If it’s to use as a standard domestic iron, get a different one, this is in my belief aimed at those wanting as close to an iron that a tailor or those hobbiests like my self who sew a lot. Because of the 40min plus time it take to cool enough to refill this is really a dry plus steam iron. I shall do the binding test soon and that should give a clear idea of what it can do. I’ve also bout the additional very well fitting teflon foot. We shall see. I like it, that’s why I”m persevering with it. If it works well, it could be a perfect sewing companion. But do have a spare Iron. I have a little update 20-08-2020, it’s still working fine, and with the use of the Teflon additional foot plate you can iron steam on full at the hottest temp and not mark or shine black cotton material, and as long as you don’t go mad with the steam it last a good while. As and example I ironed two very creased photo backgrounds twice yesterday, and few other bits and just kept going on to the sewing project. 24/09/20 Still no binding test sorry, but, used wisely say for a sheet of material and the actual project I haven’t had a problem yet.Message to Polti. It states that each Iron is rigorously tested, or words to that effect. NO! This not the case as I can still smell the acrid smell from what seemed to be something continually burning off and up through the handle. This is not acceptable for any appliance. After Number two Iron that was faulty it make you wonder. Another additional needed feature is, Maybe a dipstick or some kind of warning light to tell you your water level would be good. Perhaps a fill indicator as it’s so easy to over fill specially with the funnel. If Polti get it right it’s a good budget way for the enthusiast tailor or dressmaker. If you read this far you’re thinking about buying one. At the now £80 mark, it’s getting a bit pricy but, I stand the suitability for the sewist or budding tailor /. Dressmaker.I’ll update soon. Fingers crossed. Last update, 20-09-2020

Works a treat
I love this iron. Really works well. Works better if you iron in batches as it does take a few minutes for the steam to come through. It’s very comfortable to hold. I don’t mind ironing my linen clothes now, it tackles them so well.
