Excellent test kit
This is my second test kit from this organisation. The first one my result blood test at 34 ng/ml was adequate but they said I should up my vitamin D daily intake to 9000iu. I was taking 4000ui capsules per day. So, after increasing to that level for a couple of months, I thought I check my blood again with another test kit. The result was double at 68 ng/ml which they say is very good level. (You should be over 50 for maximum protection against disease according to the latest vitamin D research.) This company is a fine way to monitor your vitamin D levels otherwise you are just shooting in the dark. The kit is easy to action and after you post your blood samples, the results are on line on your Account in about a week. They also give you helpful advice based upon these results.

Very disappointing
Terrible. It says you only need a few drops of blood but actually you need to get quite a lot of blood out for the end of your finger which is really difficult. Also, they provide a prepaid plastic postage bag which is really flimsy and it’s no wonder that my sample never ever found it’s way to the lab with Royal Mail. My advice - ask your GP to do this blood test. Maybe less convenient but will certainly be more reliable.

Getting the vitamin D results
The test arrived quickly but, once you have done the test it goes to Germany foe test this wasn’t made clear. I expected it back quickly but that didn’t happen. So I was disappointed to have to wait. When I checked to see when I would get the test back the letter came back in German. Patricia Smith

Didn't work
The drop from the skin piercing was way too small to be of any use. I returned the product. I'm sure a lot of people get on okay with it, just no good for me.

Excellent product and service, from order to test results
I bought this test after a dna test indicated a gene polymorphism that meant I may not convert vitamin D as adequately as some. The test was easy to use, with good instructions provided. I downloaded the Cerascreen app and a week later got detailed results. The company kept me in touch with the process by letting me know when they had received the test and also when the laboratory had received the test and how long the processing would take. The personalised test result information that I received was detailed and interesting and came with the relevant personalised info. for how much to supplement for desired vitamin d levels. Great company to use and I will be ordering again, to check my levels have risen with the extra recommended supplementation. Now my husband who became interested upon viewing my results also wants to do the test so I will order for him too.

Quick and easy test - make sure you do it during opening times of the post office.
This is a great and quick test to see if you're Vitamin D deprived in England's long winter days. The packaging looks clean and simple with a modern design. The package contains 1 alcohol wipe 1 band aid 1 gauze/absorbent pad 1 transport tube 1 microvette (sampling tube) 2 lancettes 1 return envelope 1 activation card with adhesive label Just to give you an idea of the process, this is how it works: You hold your hand under warm water and swing your arm around to stimulate blood circulation. Then you use the disinfectant cloth before you use the lancet on the tip of your preferred finger (middle finger works best). After that you hold your hand horizontally and let the blood run into the collection tube. I needed about 5- 6 drops of blood until the collection tube was full. After that you close the tube, put a band aid on your finger and stick the adhesive label from the activation card on the collection tube. Then you put the sample tube into the transport tube and place that in the return envelope. Ideally, you bring it to the post office right away. The instructions are very easy to understand and quite easy to follow. Make sure you read the instructions carefully before you start. And very important: Make sure you get the blood sample at a time where the post office is open. I did on a Saturday evening of a bank holiday weekend, forgetting about the fact that the post office is already closed and it wouldn't be open for the next two days. So I kept it in the fridge for two days. Haven't had my results yet, so I can't say if it still works, but that was my fault. So make sure you do it during opening times of the post office. Why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is, because the blood sample collection was not as easy as I thought. First, I mixed up the transport tube and the sampling tube. Again my fault, but I think it would be helpful if they were labeled as well. And then the blood didn't come out as easily as I thought it would be. Maybe I have thicker blood or something, but it took me a while and I had to massage my finger while making sure the tube wouldn't fall over. Most of the things that made it more complicated were due to me not reading the instructions as carefully as I should have. But all in all it was an easy and quick way to send off a blood sample to get it tested. I will add some more info, once I got my results.

Well-designed kit, detailed results
The kit for this test has clearly been very well thought through, with detailed, foolproof, instructions. I was particularly impressed by the 'lance', a spring-loaded needle that effectively minimises discomfort and saves you the psychological stress of having to stick something in yourself! I would draw attention to the instruction to use the side of your finger tip. The skin is thinner here and there are fewer nerve endings... I had no difficulty at all getting the 3 sample spots well-covered, and didn't need to use the provided plaster. It took exactly a week for the results to come back, and they give detailed and precise results, not just a 3-digit figure for ng/ml but also a metabolism ratio. Plus a lot of explanation and suggestions. Obviously I can't judge how accurate the measurement was, but it was in the range I expected, and very precise.

Not worth it
Accuracy was rubbish. Ive done vit d test few days later with my gp and my vit d test result was high whereas Cerascreen result showed I was very low on vit d. Not only it was expensive test but not even accurate
