OXO Good Grips Digital Thermometer

Excellent device that produces readings quickly and clearly, which is what you want. We have tried a few other similar devices and this is the simplest and best. It turns on and off and tells you the internal temperature of the food, not whether various types of meat are cooked rare, medium etc so you have to know the temperature you want to achieve. In my view this works much better as there is little consistency in those temperature settings across the different devices we have tried. The pen clip type sleeve for the thermometer serves a purpose but leaves the bulbous end of the device exposed and a fully enclosed storage case of some sort would have been better, but that is the only criticism.

I have been looking for this Digital thermometer for ages and have finally bought one. I love it as it is so easy to use. It is quite accurate too since I compared the temperature of the meat with another thermometer that you insert into the meat. I clean it with some antibacterial cleaner and store it back into its case but overall I am very please with this thermometer. One thing to note that I learned from a friend is when changing the battery DO NOT CLOSE THE CASE WITHOUT A BATTER IN IT. Otherwise you won't be able to open it up again. So replace the battery at the same time you are removing it. I have purchased several OXO products and they have not let me down yet! Well worth the money

I bought this thermometer after looking at a number of reviews for this type of thermometer both here and in the states.This seemed to be a good combination of accuracy, usability and price. Since getting the themometer, I have checked it's accuracy, very good, and used it a number of times when barbecuing. It has worked very well with a number of different meats and is easy to use. It's a simple but accurate device that works really well and I am very pleased with it.

Have had one before, but accidentally melted it, so don't like me leave it in your piece of meat when you put it back in the oven! The sleeve for this one does however seem to be American, unlike my previous one. Temperatures are in both Fahrenheit and less prominently Celsius, would prefer the other way around. Another criticism, is that my previous one had a medium rare, medium and well done temperature for meats, this only does cooked!

This was a brilliant little Thermometer , I have used many in the past and spent alot of money trying to get a good one with an accurate reading. This comes with a fantastic little outer pen style cover, which you can remove to reveal the heat probe. On the cover is a guide to tell you what part of the meat should be at what temperature. This is a great idea no extra papers to keep track of. The reading on the screen is brilliant nice clear numbers that are very sensitive. Easy to clean which again is good when you dont want to faff around. I have since looked into many more of the OXO range and all of the items have been brilliant , well worth the money it wont let you down.

I am a bit disappointed with this thermometer. I was really hoping for a thermometer that measured temperatures more quickly. This one takes so long that it can be a bit uncomfortable holding it over a heat source while the temperature calibrates. Still, the build quality is exceptional as you would expect from the OXO Good Grips line. The display is nice and large, and it turns on and off quickly with a button that is easy to access.

If you are looking for a probe thermometer to test the temperature of your cooking then this is nice and simple to use. I have had no problems with using it and it has been good for me to test whether my homemade bread has cooked thoroughly. Tapping the base to listen for a hollow sound is not accurate but testing to see whether the middle has reached 90ºC is!
