Hello, could you let me know what are the dimensions of the model itself (without stand?).

Exactly what it says: 9.6 cm front to back. It is very small if you are thinking of it as a class teaching aid which is what I wanted (I failed to read and fully engage with the dimensions!!). It would probably work for between 1-4 pupils building it following the instructions; however it is fairly complicated to build and the chances of one of the pupils losing a piece is high as they are very small. In reality it has been a waste of money for me and has never been used - other than me building it which was fun. I bought a life size brain which comes in two parts and has a detailed cross section - cost about £90 but at least I can walk round the classroom holding it and talking about it and the students can see it.

Can you please tell me does this model show the reptilian brain and amygdala?

Hi Penelope, To answer your question, both basal ganglia and amygdala are shown, but all parts are really small. Also pulling the brain apart every time you want to see a particular part is probably not a good idea. However, the model does look nice on my desk.

With the model unplugged at the top of the spine - 75mm long, 63mm wide by 65mm high. Including the spine section and stand the model is 101mm high. Hope that helps.

I’m particularly looking for a model that shows the Amygdala, hippocampus, hypothalamus, thalamus and pituitary, does this one?

The model does highlight the major sections of the brain and is like a 3d jigsaw puzzle so sections can be removed to show the interior. The section you are referring to are quite small and the model is also small (about the size of a small apple) so I don't think it would be suitable for your needs.
