Rug backing is very flimsy and tears easily.

So when I first received this rug, I thought it wasn’t going to be a good rug. I guess the vacuum sealed packaging made it very thin. After I let it rest and vacuumed it, it’s straightened out and now it sits perfectly by my sons bed. It’s padded enough for us to sit comfortably and talk about the different planets and its nice that it included Pluto as well, so we can talk about why it’s no longer a planet. I love how vibrant the colors are. It would need a rug gripper underneath if you have hard wood floors like we do but we just pushed it a little underneath his bed frame and it’s staying put. Nice area rug!

We homeschool, so my kids spend a lot of time at home playing. We've had the rug out for a little over a week now. My 7 year old said that she “really liked it” and that it was “really soft”. My 3.5 year was just laying on it while playing with a lego train. It is frequently covered in toys, so it must feel good to play on. My one complaint would be related to a seam that isn't dyed on the inside so it's a little more noticeable. The same is true around the edges--you can see where the white wasn't dyed blue. It's not a huge deal, though.I found it interested that Pluto was included. As a kid, Pluto was a planet.. I don't officially know where Pluto stands today as far as classifications go. I was fine with Pluto showing up on the rug.I did take pictures of when it first came and how it looked once "settled". Be patient--it looks much better after a week!

This rug has a super cute design but is very, very thin. There is so little padding, it would only be comfortable to use on carpet. I tried using it on my wood floor by my couch, and it didn't make any difference. Overall it is soft and very cute looking for a kid’s room or activity room, but it’s not well-padded, so I’d plan to only get this to use on a carpeted floor.

The media could not be loaded. Love that this rug is machine washable it's thin but is really soft. The colors are bright and go really well with the other space decor in my kids bedroom.

I'm a scientist, so my main workroom is science themed with various math and astronomy posters. When I saw the rug I had to get it. It's colorful, soft and seems sturdy enough. Also, right now, my dog is on it, he seems to like it more than any other part of the room.The moon looks nothing like the picture, but I won't detract for that. This is great for a science room.Recommended.

My 7 year old son loves space. I thought he would enjoy a space themed rug on his hardwood floors. The rug has no unusual odors and does match the description. The rug arrived folded into a small box and shrink wrapped. Packaging states it can take a week for the rug to get its original, full plush shape. I will update my review after a week. Unpackaged the rug has obvious lines and a worn look. If the appearance improves like label suggests I will change my rating to 5 stars.
