Best stanley about
This stanley is great. Had my last one for years but dropped in cement causing it to fail. Looked everywhere for this model that locks open and no one sells. So glad i found it on here.

Good Safety Knife Overall but One Fault
Good retractable knife. Press a button to reveal the blade, press another to hide the blade. The blade locks so no need to hold the button pressed. Neat compartment to hold blades. Press a button to release the blade in order to replace it. The blades that come with the knife blunt quickly so do buy extra blades. Overall I like the knife but the revealed blade protrudes just a tiny bit less than it could do to improve usability. Using this knife sometimes feels akin to holding a marker pen to sign a document. A slimmer body with greater blade protrusion would feel nicer to hold and be more practical to use with greater precision. On the other hand, this knife is well made so should last a few years and I feel happier knowing the blade is retractable for safety purposes. I would buy this again. In fact, a friend has his eye on my knife so I might get him one for his toolbox.

Good knife
Very good but blades sometimes stick together, so you get 2 blades out together. Once blades cleaned its good.

Ergonomic and simple to use
Ergonomically very compfortable to handle. Easy to use. The blade is stored with simple extraction with a flick of a button and again to retract keeping the blade safe when not in use. Easy to change blades too.

What a brilliant knife! Will fascinate you with it's special feature!!
If you want a brilliant alternative to the usual boring Stanley knife then this is what you need, yes it's more expensive but totally worth the extra money, the ergonomic grips make it feel comfortable to use over extended periods, solid and sort of make it a natural extension of your hand. It has a spring loaded 'door' on the side to store all your spare blades. It had three available buttons, the large one springs the blade out ready for action, the 2nd largest springs it back 'home', the third is so you can extract a dull blade. Now the best thing about this knife for me, if you have just taken the previous blade out (remembering the blade stowage door was spring loaded) you just squeeze the button that extends the blades and another is automatically fed from the blade stowage and away you go! Absolutely brilliant design! Now the blades are standard Stanley blades so theres no special expensive blades to buy but the main knife is expensive, but i think it's worth it 100%!!!

Nice knife
Big , heavy and so far has lasted well with heavy use. Probably overkill for some but if you need something with quick change abilities this is ideal.

Impressive
I'm a professional gardener & I've owned several Stanley knives over the years. I have several Bahco items & I rate them all very highly. They may cost a little extra, but they are always quality & always long lasting. It was only when I was looking for a new knife that I noticed Bahco made one as well. It was a no-brainer as far as I was concerned. The knife arrived promptly & if I'm honest, it took a little while to get used to the retractable blade mechanism after years of using Stanley knives, I've now owned the Bahco knife for approximately a year & it still feels & operates like new. The way the blades are swapped is fantastic & much quicker than anything else I have ever used. The size of the knife also took a little while to get used to, as it initially felt a little on the large side. Given time, I have come to realise that it is much more comfortable with the handle being a little larger.

Excellent trade quality tool
Just received this excellent Trade quality tool and used it for around three hours non stop for cutting hardboard and felt to reline the drawers of a toolbox. The knife is a little bigger and more robust than it looks in the photographs, I find that the size and weight of this tool make it easier to use accurately - easier to guide through a straight cut in hardboard, easier to cut a finely woven material like green baize. I am really pleased with this fine utility knife, at last someone has come up with a retractable easy blade change system that is accurate to use and safe to store in your tool box.
