Buddha Beads Hardcover – 7 Jan. 2014

I had considered buying some 'beads' for a while and when I spotted this 'bracelet' plus the comprehensive book and I was tempted. Unlike some of the Monte Farber items which slip into wonderful but very whimsical nonsense this book is very valid. It is serious and wise and rather lovely. Nearly 40 pages and lots of information about the beads, Buddhism, chakra information, mantras and instructions as to how to bless and subsequently use the beads in various ways as well as a simple bracelet. It's a bit cumbersome to wear as a bracelet but it would probably suit with an 'ethnic style' but it's so much more. The bracelet is a lovely rich red wood colour and the turquoise beads and buddha charm are delightful. I hope the elastic is strong enough to cope with regular use. Why buy a bracelet when you can buy a 'manual' too for the same price? I am going to treat this as a sacred item and use it for spiritual purposes. Very happy with it and tons in the booklet to read to enhance their use. Unless the elastic snaps quickly (and I'll alter this review if it does) I would say a highly worthwhile purchase. Two things I would mention is that there are no 'strings' between each pearl. I have since bought another mala with that to make it easier to move my fingers from one bead to another. The elastic seems strong enough to squeeze my finger down between each pearl as I move my fingers.

HI!I have purchased Buddha Beads and I am slightly disapointed that only three mantras are explained when there is alot more that could of been shared. For the price, not a good buy! I could've bought for the same price a mala in a specialised store and looked up mantras on the internet! Now that said, I must admit that the mala beads are ok!Good day and a long and happy life to all!

Beads are great. Was hoping book would be more detailed about Mantras.

Bought this for my wife and she doesn't like the beads at all. It's all about feel for her and the beads felt like plastic. It just feels cheap and she wants these to be very special if she is going to meditate with them.

This was a great book. The mala beads were perfect for someone beginning their mediation practice. The book was informative and clear. I would definitely buy this again or recommend this for those interested in this starting this practice.

This is a wonderful kit I love the beads and get many compliments on the when I have them with me. The book that comes with is a wonderful guide on how to use the Buddha beads for practice and a few other things. :)

Very cool. I bought this for my mother for Christmas along with a pillow thing and she uses it all the time. Now my wife wants one too. Great, now I have to have some pillow in my house to trip over. Nice product though.

The book is well written and easy to understand and the beads are beautiful . I would recommend this to anyone looking to learn .

A real marketing item of little substance. The book is just a superficial booklet… and the beads have little to do with Buddhism. A dorje is nothing without a bell, and the counter beads cannot keep count because they don't slide. Very disappointed in this… Just a gimmick, nothing of value here.
