Good Scandi grind knife at a great price.
I was going to purchase a Beavercraft knife, also made in Ukraine, but after watching a review, I decided to go with the BPS. This is my first knife with a scandi grind. The walnut grip has a nice size and shape to it. The blade seems well made and of good quality, but did need just a bit of finishing along the edge. With a slight honing, it now has a nice edge. The sheath is particularly nice, with thick, beautiful leather. I'm pleased with the purchase, especially for $41.

Very nice bushcraft knife for people on a budget.
This is a really nice full tang knife at a very reasonable price. I paid $40 dollars after taxes. The leather sheath alone is worth that. I've had other knives three times this price have leather sheaths that aren't this nice. I also like the fact that it's made in the Ukraine, and not made in China. My only small gripe with it is that the handle isn't quite as wide as I would prefer. But it's totally usable still. I just have to grip it a little harder to get enough purchase. The back of the blade has an extremely sharp ninety degree spine, that's excellent for striking a fero rod. All the metal on the handle is sanded down and smooth to the touch. It also came sharp enough to shave with. So all in all I am very happy with this purchase. And would recommend it to anyone looking for a good bushcraft knife. Especially if you are on a budget. 👍

Very nice knife
So I agree with all the you tube reviews. Knife came packaged very well. Comes oiled and very sharp with blade in protected. Wood handle is very nice hard wood and mates to steel perfect. Finger nail test show all wood to metal perfect. Very good solid construction. Very nice knife for this price. The sheath is even more surprisingly well made and nice. Knife slides in nice and snug. Great craftsmanship. Not sure why this knife is not more expensive. Mine also came with fire starter

Good Product
Knife is well made, nice handle, with a thick spine, keeps an edge fairly well and is easy to resharpen. Feels good in in your hand, with a nice balance. Tee fire stick is also good. Nice heavier leather sheath. Nice combo, worth the price.

A Good Knife
This is a good quality, inexpensive knife. Out of the box it was very sharp. The sheath is also well made, and the ferro rod is a nice addition. The blade has a littlt notch to use on the ferro rod, a nice touch. It feels good in my hand, which is a plus. At first, I thought the handle could be smoother, and have a better finish. However, while using it to hack down some mesquite branches I found the texture of the handle is comfortable and provides a nice grip (I was wearing gloves). This is 1066 carbon steel, and I was not sure how it would perform. It did stay reasonably sharp while in use, and actually became very sharp with about 6 strokes per side on a diamond stone. I did notice very fine nicks or abrasions along the edge, so I am not sure yet how it will hold up under heavy use. Maybe not a knife for splitting wood, just lighter work. It is also not especially heavy, but does have a nice balance. For a budget knife to use while hiking and camping, I would be comfortable carrying the BPS Adventurer.

Great value
This is my second knife from this company. The quality of this knife is surprisingly high again. Ergonomics and durability is what I've paid three times as much for on other knives. The blade is perfectly straight to the human eye, very sharp, and is cut at a perfect angle. The quality & fit of the sheath has a drain hole and buyers will also be impressed as it looks like top grain leather and the stitching is beautiful. The striker and knife fit snugly and this design will float on the belt, and help to prevent broken ribs, in situations like the wearer is leaning on a tree and slipping on dry grass. To top it all off, there are holes for Ranger Assist (Dummy) Cords. Great price and no extra charge for shipping. I plan to buy more and keep as gifts for grandchildren. Gotta go put mink oil on the sheath.

Awesome Survival & Field Knife
Update: I polished the scandi-grind to remove the forced patina I had added from there and burned in the outline "ᛞᛖᚠᛁᚨᚾᛏ" (DEFIANT in the Latin alphabet) on one of the handle scales which I will later carve channels in the middle of and inlay with silver. That is to say I am really liking this knife a lot and making it my own. This is my new favorite field knife to actually use and have on me for camping, wilderness hiking, hunting, and that sort of thing. That might not sound like much but I have many, several times more expensive knives that are great, but they're so pretty I hesitate using them. This knife isn't designed as a show piece nor a collector's item. It's a high quality utility knife, straightforward, effective, and simple, sort of like the perfect cross between a Mora and a Green River. There's a very compelling, classic and yet somewhat unique utilitarian design to this knife. The balance is exactly where it should be, right at the top finger groove. The sheath it comes with is of the highest quality, and in most cases better, regardless of price that I have seen come with any production knife. How great the sheath is really can't be overstated.I have large palms and fists but medium length fingers and the knife handle is just the right size for me. Any smaller and it would be a bit too small, but it isn't. Those with extra large hands or long fingers might find it to be on the small side. The wooden scales had a little play but I tightened them up. The bolts are hex 2.5 metric. The closest imperial bit I have in size was a bit loose, so I do recommend using the metric bit, if you can.The knife I received did not come "razor" sharp, but serviceable, but did come with more of a polish on the edge of the scandi-grind. I fairly easily sharpened it further putting a very narrow convex edge on the edge of the edge, roughly one-third of a millimeter across, using one of those V shaped scrapers a little, but primarily a leather strop. Other than the sticky touch of your fingerprints, use a glint of light on the edge to see it, if at least one of your eyes are good.I put a "patina" (oxidization layer) on the knife, blotching on dabs of mustard with a q-tip and letting it dry, to tone down the brightness of the steel, and it took nicely. Afterword I washed, dried, and then coated the whole knife in a grease mixture I made of food grade mineral oil and melted beeswax which forms a paste at room temperature and works great for wood, leather, and metals.I'll probably eventually file off that extra bit of weird chin metal at the top of the finger groove and use the indent below the blade's edge to slowly shape the edge into having a subtle belly paunch.Overall, I highly, highly recommend this knife. It is an absolute steal in cost effectiveness for functionality and practical quality. Thanks, and God bless all peoples and persons in their struggles against oppression and subjugation.
