Bought this as a filler item to get free shipping, and it works fine. It’s a standard, reliable flash drive with plenty of storage for the price. Speeds are decent for daily tasks. It’s perfect for keeping as a backup, whether for media or as a Windows boot drive. Cheap and does exactly what it's supposed to.

I picked up the Amazon Basics 128 GB Ultra Fast USB 3.1 drive because I needed something reliable for backing up photos and transferring larger files between my home and work computers. The price seemed reasonable, and I’ve had decent luck with Amazon Basics in the past, so I figured it was worth a try. After a few weeks of use, I don’t really have any complaints. The drive is small enough to toss in a bag or pocket, but not so tiny that it feels like I’ll lose it instantly. It recognized quickly on both my Windows desktop and my older linux system, and transferring files is fast; definitely noticeably faster than the older USB 2.0 drives I’ve used. I’ve been able to move big video files and large batches of photos without much waiting around. No problems with corrupted files so far. The casing is plastic, but it feels sturdy enough for normal daily use. I’m not rough with my stuff, so that’s fine by me. There’s no fancy branding or gimmicks;just a simple, functional flash drive that does what I need it to do. If you’re looking for something basic that gets the job done without costing too much, I think this is a solid choice.

Works well, as expected. NOTE: Default format is FAT32. Recommended is to immediately format the drive to NTFS so that you can store files greater than 4gb onto it without issues.

Sleek design, lightweight and about the same size as a standard thumb drive. Overall, the read and write speed is relatively good (notably write speed is ~15-20mb/s on average for anything from photos to a folder for a full game), with little issue when it comes to transferring files. Overall, a pretty decent thumb drive for the cost. The only downside is that there is a notable amount of space less than advertised. I purchased the 128GB drive while it was on sale for $9.10 and the available storage space is 116GB (approx 12GB less than expected) despite being new from the box. It should be noted that this is before any files were put into the thumb drive. Otherwise, it's not a major problem and works as intended, but that deficit of storage is enough to knock off a star.

I needed a flash drive with a lot of room for photos because I'm a hiker. I was constantly running out of room in my Google storage, not anymore! I use this flash drive, with an adapter, on my Google pixel 8 pro phone. It works fantastic, my phone detected it right away, I didn't have to do anything but plug it in because it was already ready. I'll be honest, I didn't really pay attention if there were instructions with it, it was ready to go when I took it out of the box so it was very easy to use. The size is perfect because it fits in the palm of my hand, the transfer speed uploading or downloading is fantastic. It allows you to unzip large files easily. I already have hundreds of photos from the last two and a half years of hiking stored on this flash drive and I still have plenty of room for several years more. It does not get hot while it's plugged into my phone, it goes from my Google phone to my HP Chromebook seamlessly. I am very happy with this flash drive and if I need another one I'm definitely buying another Amazon Basics.

Work great. I can't really comment on the speed, as I don't have any other USB 3.1 sticks to compare it to, but it's fast enough for my needs. A great value compared to the name brands.
