Easy Christmas Origami (Dover Crafts: Origami & Papercrafts)

I'm just starting out making nativitys with origami. If I get good at it, I would like to be able to make a set for all of nieces and nephews. Children can and do understand the meaning behind Christmas but usually can only look at the family nativity because of their fragile nature. No one wants a family heirloom broken especially if it has a rich family history with it. With a paper origami nativity the children can play with it and experience the story of Christmas hands on and the worst thing that can happen is a piece gets ripped and Aunt Pam needs to fold a new one.

This book was great! My 4 year old and 6 year old were both able to complete the projects in this book with help from me, of course. The directions were great, very easy to follow, and as long as you're precise in your folding the projects turn out great. I love origami because it is such wonderful way to fine tune motor skills and expand creative thinking. We really liked all the different types of stars that were included in the Christmas book.

my daughter asked for an oragami kit for Christmas. purchased this to satisfy what i believe will be a short-lived fad. pages are plain-no color (so not sure how engaging for my 9yo). Wish this book would include some paper--not sure why, but I didn't think about ordering a small pack of paper to go with the book.

Bought this as a gift for a nine year old and he had so much trouble trying to make the majority of the items in this book that he brought it over to have me help him. I'm an adult who has no problem making traditional pieces of origami (like cranes, flowers, gift-boxes, etc), yet I only managed to make the heart (easily) and the santa claus (with some difficulty). The 3D Christmas was my breaking point. We had to go online and search youtube and other origami websites to figure out the others. The instructions could have been written better and the images could be clearer. Overall, despite loving the idea of Christmas origami, I wouldn't order this product again due to it's difficulty.

This was a gift for a student of mine. They were very happy with the gift, it was just enough of a challenge.

Got this for a Christmas gift. Very cute and a great place to learn origami paper folding. Nice price on this.

My son and I had a great time making the items in this book (some were too hard for us, but others were great). We decorated our Xmas gifts with our origami art and it was a big hit! A nice parent-child activity. And the price was right.

I ordered this for a school project and it appears to be exactly what I wanted. Due to weather-related shipping delays we didn't get to do the project but I'm sure it will be fine. The pictures are clear and easy to do.

If this is easy origami, preserve me from difficult. Instructions are all in diagrams only which are not very big or clear. For origami experts this might be sufficient but I'm a rookie at the craft. Perhaps I should take up crochet instead?

I bought this to keep the family entertained on Christmas Day - it definitely did as some of the instructions are very hard to follow - we gave up in the end

It ought to be noted that this product is for the book only, so it'll be a while before I can try any of them out and include feedback about how well the instructions are illustrated. And there are a lot of step-by-step illustrations. The paper quality of the book is low grade, but at this price point it's no surprise. And since it's so inexpensive, I'll simply hand onto it until I can find some reasonably priced Christmas coloured origami sheets. 3 stars, at least for now.

Hier sind wirklich viele, relativ einfach nachzufaltende Origami-Diagramme enthalten, die man auch ohne Englischkenntnisse durchführen kann. John Montrolls sind die besten, die ich bisher gesehen habe. Kein Schritt wird ausgelassen, alles ist gut bebildert. Die Grundfalttechniken sollte man sich zuvor jedoch zu Gemüte führen.Wir haben das Buch zweimal gekauft, einmal für uns und einmal für die Mittagsbetreuung der Schule. Die haben sich riesig gefreut und sind total begeistert von dem Buch.Ich kann all seine Bücher, die ich bisher habe, bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen.

We really enjoyed this at a family Christmas gathering, some were a little tricky but made us laugh. Cheap and fun!
