I'm so happy that I splurged and got a Theragun massager. The mini is perfect. It is light and easy to maneuver, but still powerful enough to do the job. It is very quiet, which means you can use it without alerting the neighborhood. There are three speeds, and I find myself using the middle one. The device comes with three heads: a standard ball, a thumb head for more concentrated massage, and a more diffuse dampener head for more bony bits. You also get a USB-A to USB-C. The soft case is wonderful and holds the device, plus the two extra heads, and the charging cable - plus the thin instruction pamphlet. Get the app! Wow! Very, very helpful and really helps you get the most out of your device. Not cheap, but if you can stretch your resources, this one will almost certainly do well for you. One extra note: the device and accessory packaging is brilliant! Kudos to the design team.

This is an amazing massaging tool. I often suffer from muscle soreness and tightness and this was recommended to me by my Physical Therapist to help with that. It is lightweight and can easily be taken with you if you’re traveling or need it on the go. It has several varying degrees of pressure/intensity, so depending on how much pressure you prefer, there is a setting for it. I have found it to be very helpful as a pain management tool and am so happy with this recommendation.

Ive been running for over a year now and have run 5ks, 8ks and even a 15k and absolutely love it but tbh I've been awful at recovery to the point my recent race gave me runners knee (hopefully not a tear) and have suppered from shin splints and ankle pain on and off. This? Oh my god so Ive seen these everywhere on the runners side of the internet but now that Ive gotten one its literally the best. The app has so many good tutorials and even put together a routine for me. It syncs with strava to see what I'm up to as well. You can save routines you like and customize everything from intensity to duration- you can even turn off sounds or turn on breaks. The "preasure" sensor is a little iffy but within 5 minutes of using this I found major muscle problem areas I wasn't previously aware of! My calves and left quad was in so much pain even with the damper I had to turn down the intensity. I tested this out on my back using the thumb attachment during the tutorial and it was SO relaxing I highly recommend it as less of recovery and more of a relaxing end to your workday or before bed. The bottom of my foot with the damper was also so nice.

This is one of the most impressive products I’ve purchased in a long time. Initial impression and wow factor may be best I’ve ever experienced. I’m not sure this is the same as a massage, but for getting blood flowing through muscles before/after workout it is TERRIFIC. I also use it throughout the day on my neck and shoulders to prevent headaches. In addition, I had some ankle swelling from driving long periods, and I have used it on my legs to increase circulation. I’m really amazed at how strong this thing is and how long the battery lasts. I also find the shape and weight just fine for holding and positioning on muscles. I actually bring it on the car (fits in glove box) for long trips. It includes three tips, but I might purchase other tips. I agree with people who say don’t push too hard, you might get sore muscles. Just go over surface of muscles with light pressure. That’s all you need. Fir anything else, get periodic real massage.

This is very helpful massager. It can be very effective in almost all mascular pains. I use it often. Light weight. Easy grip.

I bought a generic 'Aldom' unit for $40 and the Theragun for $170 off Amazon. I wanted to know whether it was worth spending more. The Aldom's head had a short amplitude, must've been under 10mm, it barely felt like a vibration, and would lose power pushing into the muscle. The motor was quiet because it barely did anything. I could feel my hand vibrating as it held the gun, but barely anything on the muscle. The build quality as trash as well, I suspect a lot of the reviews for the generics are fake. The Theragun had a real punch to it, and would keep a consistent pushing force and had a greater amplitude. The soft touch plastic, curves for handling, weight and strength of the material all felt nice. However, it'll be some time to figure out whether the Theragun Mini for warming up for a run is worth it.
