A5 Wagyu!? Well, maybe…
I decided to treat myself for my birthday. I had never had A5 Wagyu filet, so after looking at the price, I took a deep breath and took the plunge. Package arrived in good shape, nice and cold. The ice packs were about half melted. I left them on the counter for about an hour. I took them out of the package uh-oh! As you can see from my photo one is beautifully marbled, the other not so much. Based on this company’s own information one of these would have rated a BMS-5 grade 4. That’s right in line with US Prime, not Japanese A5 Wagyu.I seared them in a skillet and served at a perfect 130 degrees, paired with a loaded baked potato casserole. Yes they were good, one certainly better than the other. I would give the nicely marbled one a 9/10, the other an 7/10.Bottom line: When making very expensive food purchases, diminishing returns has to be applied. The price of two Prime filets is $48, these were $250. So is it worth it? At 5X the price? Absolutely not.

Best in the world
This steak is melt in your mouth delicious. Treat yourself- you will not regret it!Update: just purchased 2 more filets and a ribeye. This meat is addictive, truly flavorful, melt in your mouth.Update: my latest order came a few days late and defrosted/warm and rotten. Sadly the seller didnt help me but Amazon refunded me. This will not stop me ordering again as i love the product when they get it right.

This is NOT a thin slice of Wago steak like other advertisements. It’s a nice piece of meat definitely with the Japanese A5 rating. Even if it’s just for one treat to yourself a year, I highly recommend it. I’d also like to highly recommend the company as it was well packed and could’ve most likely stood even another day and remain frozen.

Not as advertised
This product is not A5 . The marbling isn’t close…. Not expecting anything free just be aware that these prices should reflect the best and not what I got…
