Darlac Electronic Water Timer – 2 Dial Function for Multiple Watering Options, Frequency and Run Time – Garden Hose Fitting

Thank you to all previous reviewers. It encouraged me to purchase this device. I was after a unit that works from a water butt. This clearly states on the package now it's arrived that it does do that. It works off a mains pressure tap too.Operation is easy, one point of interest which I've not seen mentioned, it maybe a new feature.There is a delayed start option which might be useful to a lot of people.The instructions state that by depressing the delay start button, using the end of a pen or paper clip, the watering time can be delayed by up to 12 hours, each depress is one hour delay.This is useful if you want to start watering at about 07:00am but it's 21:00 in the evening when you are setting it up.I'm going to place the unit in the greenhouse by running a longer hose from the butt to the unit in order to keep the unit out of the rainy weather we are having.If anyone can give their feedback/experience on the battery life that would be very useful.Four stars for now as unit is not in operation yet, however I have tested it straight from the box and is functional. The lid covering the controls is not capable of being made 'tight/secure' as stated in the manual and should not be left in the open position as ingress of water will occur. I intend to use an elastic band,which is not supplied, to keep the lid well closed.May2020: setting up the water butt to supply water to the hose lock trays to keep grow bags consistency watered. This device keeps working and topping up the hose lock trays. Brilliant.

This is the first water timer I have bought and wanted something to use with my irrigation system I had installed. From the product reviews of this and other same type products I chose this one. I am not disappointed. It took a while for me to get the hang of setting up the timer and making sure it was working properly and after a week I now finally trust this 100% I think I was just a bit weary of it suddenly breaking down and coming home from holiday to find every single hanging basket and plant dead! especially in this heat we have been having. I have had to increase the timing of the water because of the weather condidtions.I have placed my timer horizontal to the ground coming out of the garden tap, this way the face of the timer is facing up, skyward and this ensures no water will drip into the device. I have found this very useful. I have used a good brand set of batteries and just keep a check on the timer, I have no idea how long the batteries will last, but the indicator will let me know.All in all I love this product and now give it far more trust to keep my blooms well watered. It's very well built and looks like it will last a long time as long as I keep it clean, and put it away in the winter.

My old hozelock water timer gave up after many years service with the controls and digital readout going AWOL.I was going to replace it with something similar but was not keen on the 'new look hozelock product and they are expensive. The reviews are poor regarding the battery compartment flooding so I looked around and saw this Darlec timer. I have delayed giving a review to see if it works over a period of time and it works fine. The controls are easy to set and use and it is easy to fit to the outside tap and there is no problem with the battery compartment flooding even from torrential rain at times as it has a protective cover over the front. The only reason I did not give it five stars is it takes a few attempts to get the time of day settings correct although there is a delay button. Otherwise it has performed well and I would reccomend it.

The product started making clacking noises and stopped working properly after about 5 months, could prolong temporarily for a few days with taking out batteries and replacing them again. Had to replace it after 6 months with a different device. Would actually expect money back or repalcement device.

Just the ideal device to automatically water your green house plants when used with any of the drip feed systems around.I set mine to drip feed my tomato and cucumber plants twice a day for 5 minutes each watering and I added a fine mesh bag of comfrey which I grew beside my greenhouse to the water butt as fertiliser and every thing is growing well at the moment.The Timer is simple to set up and runs without any intervention. Make sure that the connection to the water butt is absolutely watertight as I used a push on tap with my water butt only to find that there were no connectors which would not drip.Eventually I used a hose clip and the end of the hose pipe to get a watertight connection.It is worth running your system for a week before you go on holidays to iron out any problems (such as over or under watering).

This timer was bought specifically to be used as a LOW pressure timer and is connected very successfully to a water butt and delivers water to the plants in our green house via LOW pressure sprinklers and drippers.Straight forward to install however check first ... you are likely to require additional fittings for a water butt connection.Easy to program, its how many times a day and for how long that needs experimenting with. Took me 4 days to figure out not too little or not too much. Happy holidays !

Worked well for 1 year then the plastic seemed to perish as it cracked and became unusable due to leaks
