Q: £40 for a trivet seems high, is there something special about this for Berkey systems?

It is very expensive. I bought it because I needed to raise the Berkey off the worktop to fill glasses and bottles and this raises it up to the perfect height and is strong and the correct size. Also the Big Berkey weighs a ton when full and I had tried raising it up using other things but nothing was strong enough. The Berkey was so expensive I didn’t want to risk breaking it by using a flimsy stand. It is a rip off though and I think the stand should have been supplied with the Berkey.
