would this with Nikon D3300 for astrophotography (provided there there is an adaptor that I can buy separately)?

Well it depends what you are trying to observe. The Celestron 8SE is an f10 SCT which is designed to look at bright objects like the moon or planets. For Astrophotography you would need a focal reducer like the Celestron f6.3 .This will increase the light coming from less bright objects like Deep Sky Objects e.g M42 Orion Nebula. If you want DSO's then an Astrograph with focal ratio of f4 will enable you to detect faint sky objects with a DSLR. Hope this helps.

Why does this include out of date software, not compatible with windows 10? The software provided is for xp, or Windows 2000. must be years old?

The included software is indeed very dated now. We advise our customers not to bother with it. It is just a simple desktop planetarium program. Celestron now provide a free app called Celestron Sky Portal. This is much better and available to download from iTunes and android. Also for PC Stellarium and Cartes de Ciel are other better and free alternatives that can be downloaded. Hope that helps. Regards Tring Astronomy Centre

Hi, I am hoping someone with expertise can help? I want long exposure photos using my Nikon of nebulae & need to know where my £1000+ is best spent?

For long exposure photography it is essential to have an equatorial mount to prevent rotation of the field of view. This scopehas an alt-az mount and is therefore unsuitable for your needs.

Is this not supplied with the tripod?

The one I purchased came with the tripod. Check the details or contact the seller if it isn't Amazon direct.
