Brilliant, and really good value for money! Simple and effective!
PLEASE READ THIS!Before you read this review please note that I am a Pro Photographer, 17 years, well established and I've also been teaching photography in my private school for 11 years. I am super techie and I understand well the IT equipment too and I've been using CF cards for very long time. So, I've been trying so many CF card readers, expensive and cheap, they all failed me in the end, and I always asked myself why these car readers have to be so complicate? This is just brilliant, simple, very simple, the simplest ever and it really works so well, the red light is a bonus, and I love it and the slot is very tight which helps the card to get in the right place.WARNING!! The CF cards are by their nature really fragile and sensitive, the PINS are the problem, therefore, the card MUST BE inserted in the reader very gently and slow, loose hand and make sure it goes in the right place, DON'T PUSH / FORCE IT if you feel like it's not going in the right place, take it out and try again, and make sure you insert the card straight, not angled. If the card reader fails and damages the pins, it's your fault, not the card reader!!!!I see lots of bad reviews from other users but I have to say most of them is because the user's fault, not the card reader.

Works well, but needs a gentle touch to keep working
Four stars for this: it doesn't cost much, it works, it was delivered promptly. So why just four stars?OK, given the price I may be expecting too much but the trouble with compact flash card readers is that they need all those pins to read the card and that's my problem. The pins in this reader are a relatively soft metal and bend easily. Ok, you can try and bend them back - I use a slim biro with the innards removed so that there's just the case left, and then the hole in the end can be used to coax pins back into position - but once you start on this road, you know it's only a matter of time before it will stop working and you'll have to buy another. That might be a good way of getting more orders, but it's also a good way of irritating the customers you've already had.So that's why I've given four stars, not five. Otherwise, it works well and does exactly what I bought it to do. Just be gentle when you put your CF card into the reader, with the side with the manufacturer's name uppermost, and you'll probably be OK. Be a bit ham-fisted and you'll bend pins.

Worked as needed
I recently tried the Integral Compact Flash USB2.0 Memory Card Reader Adapter and while the speed of data transfer wasn't as fast as I had hoped, it didn't impact my ability to use the product. The adapter is small and portable, making it convenient to carry around, and it was easy to use - I simply plugged it into my computer's USB port and inserted my memory card. Despite the slower transfer speed I experienced, I was still able to transfer my files without any major issues. One thing that impressed me about the adapter was its build quality. It feels sturdy and durable, giving me confidence that it will last a long time. And for its price, it's a great value.Overall, I recommend the Integral Compact Flash USB2.0 Memory Card Reader Adapter for those who need a reliable and affordable way to transfer data from their memory cards to their computer, even if the transfer speed may not be the fastest.

Simple and functional
Bought mine in 2010 and it's still working fine, unlike those of other reviewers... I guess quality control may be a little lax on items this cheap. Mine has never failed or caused any faults, and despite not having the most reassuring build quality, for the price I can't really justify giving it any less than 5 stars.I bought this as a replacement for several other card readers that had to be plugged in via a separate cable. My cameras all take CF, so I don't need a multi-card reader (my mac has a built-in SD slot anyway, should I need it - which I never have), so having something like this that plugs directly into the USB slot is perfect for me. Plus it's tiny, so doesn't take up too much room in your bag, or have a cable to get wrapped around things/lost.

Cheap, but does the job for infrequent use
Product was cheap and flimsy, but I expected that from reading reviews before purchase. The pins looked like they could be easily damaged/bent. In fact, I think some of the pins might've moved when I used mine, but it still worked despite that. You just have to be extremely careful not to damage your CF card (or the reader’s pins) when using it as it’s not robust. I only needed it for occasional use so I didn’t mind the low quality - I used it once and probably will either have no need for it for another decade (or indeed, ever again!). So for the price and intended use it was great! But if you would be using this more heavily then perhaps a more expensive, more robust known-brand item would be better suited to your needs

It works as it is meant to.
Perfect product. I was afraid that I would no longer be able to use my old camera because it took such physically big cards, but this card reader is the perfect solution. It works as it is meant to.
