Truly a wonder - everything you need is on the board!
This is an excellent thin itx board. I paired it with an Akasa Euler case and an mSATA ssd which provides an extremely neat, very small and totally silent pc - no ATX psu fan, no cpu fan, no case fans, no hard drive noise just complete silence. This is a feature of thin itx boards, the cpu socket is in a standard position to allow case manufacturers to provide thin itx cases where passive cooling replaces the cpu cooling fan. Everything is on board, just insert cpu, memory and mSATA ssd, fit the board in the case, plug in the power supply and you're done.Another feature of thin itx boards is of course their low profile - the thin itx I/O panel is half the height of the standard I/O panel, although Asus also provide a full height panel if you're fitting this to standard mITX or ATX cases. Please ignore comments about the power supply being non standard, yes the 5V and 12V ATX power supply is also onboard and the board powered by an external DC brick, but this is again of a standard specification for the thin itx form factor and one was supplied with the Akasa case. There is a SATA power supply onboard if you wish to add an SATA drive to supplement the onboard mSATA drive. If you don't get a power supply with your case you will need a 19v DC laptop supply with a 7.4mm (outer diameter) / 5mm (internal diameter) plug - these are commonly available. One minor problem, there were occasional drop outs on the LAN running at Gigabit speeds. This was solved by downloading the latest version of the driver from the Realtek site, it was nowhere to be found on the Asus site.I'm buying a second!

I managed to buy multi purpose external power supply for laptops. Make sure you buy the one with 7.4mm PIN. This kind of adapter/pin is rarely used in normal laptops. do not expect it to have it at home. google for 7.4mm pin/plug. = Barrel pin dimensions: 7.4MM x 5.0MMeither you need this one; https://www.amazon.co.uk/90-degree-Connector-Converter-Latitude-Elitebook/dp/B009KUI41Sorhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Adapter-Genuine-Charger-DA130PE1-00-Compatible/dp/B009JG4NTA/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1505063136&sr=1-13&keywords=laptop+Portable+AC+Adapter++7.4mmtwo pins- just behind external power supply- are wrong- Asus still managing to sell these malfunctioned mobs with wrong white- two pins holder.other than wrong two pins - motherboard is good. i could see it bending when i put heatsink on it. SATA ports are bit wobbly.i am still giving it 5 stars.

Great product in a small package
Got this for a Hackintosh, but got sick patching it everytime an OS upgrade happens to make it boot. Gigabyte's version of this does not have this problem. This is not really Asus's fault and I should've done more research. It's now running Ubuntu, and so far so good. Boots up in seconds with my SSD and stable so far. There are sometimes glitches on the HD videos with my i3 CPU, but I'm not sure if it's the CPU graphics failing to keep up or MB issue. Occasionally the USB 3.0 ports drop and I had to restart - happened when using both Hackintosh and Ubuntu, it might not be an issue on Windows but I don't have a Windows licence to test it.Great product otherwise, it has plenty of features for such a small board, and I like Asus's Bios.

Excellent board for a thin and silent build
Excellent board, - make sure to buy SODIMM laptop memory and a MSATA hard drive to really max out the silent fast board. Used it in a custom build (in a re-purposed Nintendo and it's been running non-stop for about two weeks without a single hitch. Brilliant board and really well thought out.Worth pairing with:Akasa AK-CC7129BP01 Low Profile Intel Coolerfor an ultra thin build as the motherboard also comes with two I/O plates, one of which is a Thin-ITX spec and half the height of a normal I/O plate. Make sure your case fits this and if not, use the full height one.

Regardless of Bios updates, you cannot boot from USB (if using FreeNas setup this is very important). If you are using a fanless setup (eg akasa euler 2) you have to enable the fan control in the Bios, only to ignore the fan speed limit to boot...Otherwise this board is the champion of mediocrity.

Perfect for my thinny HTPC. Amazing quality and performance for the price.
Great performance,I only have a little problem was with the Lan driver (the internet connection was dropping) I downloaded the driver from Realtek "thanks to another reviewer advice" and problem fixed. Still deserves 5 stars, I bought a second oneMy Built.Silverston PT13 case, Asus H81T motherboard, i3-4360 Haswell CPU, Akasa AK-CC7129BP01 fan, SO Dim Crucial 8GB-BLS8G3N169ESECEU, HP Laptop power brick 90W. Very quite.

No warranty support
Great board I'm sure until it goes wrong and then you will get no real support from ASUS at all. 3 year warranty - no chance !I spent weeks backwards and forwards with ASUS trying to get a board mended that was just over a year old. Amazon would not help and referred me to ASUS who just put one barrier after another in the way. ASUS agreed to send a replacement board but sent just the blanking plate! When I queried this they then said they had made a mistake and I should go back to Amazon. Time consuming and deliberately obstructive - they will not help you.

Quality board.
Usual ASUS quality. Excellent number of ports. I teamed it up with a low power I3 and 8GB of ram to build a fanless media server and it has been faultless. Make sure you get the proper power connector. This board uses 19V and a slightly rare size connector. It is the same one as used on several HP laptops.
