I have copied the wording from the product information above -“No plugs are supplied with this product: In the UK it is illegal for a manufacturer to supply an indoor use 3 pin plug with an outdoor product.”All uk pond equipment suppliers have to abide by this legal requirement.This is my second purchase of the Blagden 5in1 3000. The previous one worked perfectly for over 5 years before giving up. My pond is in the sun and 1,500 litres. I have 5 goldfish over 10 inches, who gave me over 20 babies last year so the pond is now overstocked (they are all hiding under the Lilly pads). As you can see the pond is free of blanket weed and the water is clean and clear. I have added 2 of the 3 free Blagden pond pads that I found tucked inside the packaging- thank you, I’ve ordered more.This pump is very effective and efficient. It’s simple to put together and lift out for cleaning. I’m a 70 year old woman so I appreciate how easy this is to use and maintain.The price is very reasonable when compared to buying a separate filter box and pump which I’ve had in the past and this works just as well. There’s the added bonus of no leaking hoses and jubilee clips to wrestle with either. Please forgive the ugly netting, we have a very determined Heron who lives on a nearby lake but he hasn’t taken any - yet!

Wish I'd got this ages ago! Easy to install and works brilliantly to clear water. I initially spent a fortune on various products to sort murky water to no avail. Took a week or so initially for water to clear and do have to clean filters fairly frequently but to be expected with so much wildlife in pond. Fountain effect is lovely too; just right height for our pond. It's made it into such a pretty, healthy pond and light means can see so much even at night. Goldfish look great and have loads of frogs and toads laying in March & April. Lovely to go to sleep to the sound of the fountain and croaking frogs.

Blagdon have certainly cornered the free standing pond market -I love their productsThis filter is easy to install and clean when you need to.Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that this is my second unit in just over 3 years - my first one just gave up the ghost and completely stopped working?- followed all the trouble shooting by checking wiring and cleaning impeller etc - dead as a doughnut!

I don't tend to write product reviews but I feel this pump / filter warrants an exception. I've struggled for years to maintain a healthy pond and have used a lot of the green water treatments on the market to no avail. Until now, I've only had a pump in the pond and, whilst they help with aeration and water circulation, they don't do anything in terms of cleaning the water. I'd been toying with the idea of installing an external UV filter but was put off by all the pipework, additional power requirements and all the work I'd need to do to conceal the equipment. I've watched lots of YouTube videos and people are digging holes, building waterfalls and all manner of elaborate water features. This felt like a hell of a lot of work, so when I saw this product, I was excited but, given all the fails I'd had in the past, I was also slightly skeptical. I installed the Blagdon pump 2 weeks ago and the pond water had the appearance and texture of pea soup. As you can see from my before and after shots, the difference it's made is nothing short of remarkable! I've had to take the pump out a few times to clean the filters (which were thick with silt and grime), however, even after 1 week, it was clear that the pump was doing its job. Now, 2 weeks on, I'm now looking at a perfectly clear and healthy looking pond. I can't recommend this product highly enough!

I had what I thought was a good pump with a UV light. It was getting sluggish and not clearing the water properly after 4 years.This new one is super !! Very powerful , well made and sturdy. Easy to put together and gravel pieces are bagged which is doable for when cleaning. I’d highly recommend.Only down size is it had no plugs. Not a biggie though and still recommend.

Worked ok for a while but over the last year the uv lamp stopped working, I’ve had to change the filters three times and do a full water change four times in a small pond, two of my fish died after the water became so gloopy it was barely coming out of the fountain, despite keeping a close eye on things.This thing is not fit for purpose.Amazon just pass the buck on any issue after 30 days of purchase and the seller House of aquatics is undoubtedly one of the worst companies I’ve ever dealt with, they didn’t even respond until I threatened legal action.It was like dealing with a petulant child , they are so unhelpful and stroppy , apparently I was in communication with the CEO but I honestly thought it was a teenager, no respect, no politeness and so very unprofessional.I decided I didn’t need the aggro and bought a different one from my local pet shop, I should have done that originally.With the above in mind I won’t buy anything over £100 on amazon again, when things go wrong they are appalling and seem to think that they are above the law, they try and direct every issue away from their responsibility and finally point you to their extensive small print which we all accept and never read.I will be buying local in future at least you can return to the shop if things go wrong.You have been warned, AVOID !

The media could not be loaded. I wanted a new water pump and seeing that there were a couple of options for this pump, I went for the middle option and it is a great pump/ fountain that I needed. Before the pump, the water was quite green and murky, but after a couple of days running it, the water became clear and I could see my fish again. It certainly filters the muck in the pond, having to clean the filters every 3 to 4 weeks.

This is the second one of these I’ve bought. The first lasted 2 years and this one just made it to three years. They do work really well - when they work - but super frustrating to have to keep replacing it. Am I being unrealistic wanting it to last more than three years?
