When wifi just won't cut it.
My new work laptop doesn't have a LAN slot. That seems to be becoming a bit of a 'thing'. My husband's Chromebook doesn't have one either. The slimmer the laptop, the less likely they've bothered to put a hole for your LAN cable, because these days everybody's happy with WIFI so they don't need cables - or do they? In the midst of the massive broadband-sucking 'work from home' caused by Covid-19 (or more likely due to the millions watching Netflix at home) broadband service seems to limp and fall over after lunch. I live in the countryside where broadband is never going to get compared to Usain Bolt and in a house with 2-foot thick stone walls. My study is a long way from the Wi-fi router so I have a good old fashioned LAN cable running through the attic and into the room.So what to do when you've got all the gear but no hole? Buy one of these. The model was recommended by work IT and they got it just right. Not only does it work, but it doesn't take up one of my two very precious standard USB ports. Instead, it plugs into a slot on the other side of the laptop that I hadn't even realised was there. I think it's a USB C and I have nothing else in the world that would fit that particular hole so I'm more than happy to sacrifice it to this nice little shiny black contraption. It works. That's really all you need to know. It doesn't solve all the problems of long afternoon teleconferences - it can't fix everybody else on the call's rubbish connections - but at least I'm more confident that I'm part of the solution and not part of the problem.

It works really well
It worked perfectly on my iPhone X and older iPad, its really neat because it has pass-through power, which you will probably need. While this adapter will work perfectly off the phone battery, it does hit the battery quite hard, which is fine for an hour or so, but any longer and you'll really want to use the pass-through power (which charges the phone and powers the Ethernet adapter) as your battery will be flat and the phone will be quite warm due to battery load.I currently can't fault it, and performance goes as fast as my internet connection will allow - I can't test any faster.Great little device, and the correct type of shiny smooth white Apple plastic to keep the fan bois happy:-)Hightly recommended!Update: Used it in a couple of hotels for complimentary Enternet internet and it worked really well at that task also, so it's won a permanent place in my travel bag also.

Passthrough Charging disappointment
I bought this (relative expensive) product on the claim of USB-C passthrough Charging support. Ethernet network connectivity is fine but when I came to test the passthrough charging (using a 60W charger that it claims to support) the expected charge time went from 40mins with direct connection to the USB-C port upto a staggering 6 hours 40 mins via the passthrough. This is on a new laptop so the battery is perfect and at 70% charge before starting the test. On these grounds I couldn't possibly recommend this product and would advise the use of far far cheaper adapters.

but I'll stick with Aukey for now who are also good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this at all
I purchased this for a new MacBook Pro, as I wanted an adapter to keep in my bag during travels. It's no secret that the marketplace is now flooded with USB-C to USB A accessories, but finding quality examples at decent prices is another matter. This is why I went with Belkin, who are incredibly trustworthy. The adapter costs a little more than most, and is almost twice the cost of an Amazon Basics, but it's money well spent. As expected, the product is superbly well made and even has a little reassuring weight to it, which reflects the higher quality materials. The plug and socket are very well constructed - the USB-A end in particular having plenty of metal integrity. The cable section is well insulated, with just enough flex to lessen the pressure from the connectors. If they were cheaper I would purchase Belkin's other USB-C accessories, but I'll stick with Aukey for now who are also good. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this at all.

Simple Solution that Saved £££££’s
Having been giving a new Lenovo laptop for work with only 1 HDMI port and 1 USB-C port (used for power) I couldn’t connect two monitors when using it in the office as initially I didn’t realised that the USB-C power port could also be used as a video out port. After some research it seemed the only solution was an expensive ‘docking station’ for between £60 and £120 which I though was excessive. I then stumbled across this Belkin device which was exactly what I was after as it allows me to add an additional HDMI monitor whilst still keeping my laptop on charge for a fraction of the price of the docking station. Thought there might be some software updates to allow me to use it but I was pleasantly surprised that it worked straight out of the box and actually allows both monitors and the laptop screen to work simultaneously. Minor gripe is that it only supports up to 60W of charging where as laptop charger is 75W so charging through it is slower but when it’s plugged in all day in the office it’s not a issue to even consider.

Works with iPad Pro 2018 Models
Not only does it do what it says in the tin, but it also allows me to connect my iPad Pro 2018 model to my LAN/Ethernet connection. Perfect.

The best adapter compared to others
I have a surface laptop with a USB-C dongle and I tried two other cheaper brands that also had usb ports on them although i didn't use the usb ports just the HDMI socket. I bought from Amazon. They worked fine for about 6 hours, after which the screen gets fuzzy and i need to keep on disconnecting the adapter and reconnecting. With the Belkin F2CU038BTBLK its been working fine since I bought it and I have used it for 12 hours or more without getting any issues. The adapter is a bit pricey but worth every penny!

Full compatibility with iPad Air 2020
I bought this to connect an iPad Air 2020 to an HD television. I struggled to find an adapter whose documentation specifically mentioned compatibility with my device, and so I thought I’d take a chance with the cheapest branded product. Usage is simple - just plug it in. Picture is crisp and sound is present on TV also. Not sure if HDCP is supported for Netflix and the like. Belkin has an alternative product for £20 more that explicitly supports HDCP and supports a slightly higher resolution. I have sensor tried the charging aspect of this adapter.
