Great little beaker.
Just what I wanted: a liquid measuring cup with detailed measurements. This has a notch every 10mL, which is perfect--no more eyeballing something when you need 180mL, 220mL, etc., which with certain recipes can make a big difference in the outcome. It is, however, just as thin-walled as any lab beaker, which means this will be quite fragile, and the lack of a handle will limit its usefulness for hot liquids (not something I intend to use it for, anyway). The pouring spout is adequate; it didn't drip terribly at a steady pour. Some of the measurements are, for me, extraneous (the sugar one in particular) but others may find these very useful. The beaker came perfectly packed in several layers of bubble wrap, which was reassuring. (Also, Sunday delivery via Prime? I feel like I'm living in the future!)

Easy to read
This is genuine Pyrex. The gradations are clear to use. It has liquid, flour, rice and sugar scales. I mainly use for liquid measurements because the container that came with my breadmaker is small and hopeless to read the scale. I chose this because it has a 10ml scale so I can measure 170ml for example with confidence and not have to guess somewhere between 150 and 200ml. The scale goes upto 550ml. or 400g flour and 500g sugar. (No imperial measures). The packaging does warn against adding heat to a cold container as this may cause breakage. Like any other glass it wouldn't withstand a fall. Go for a plastic one if this worries you but the markings may not be so easy to read. As long as I'm not my usual clumsy self, I hope this will assist my accuracy when baking for years to come.

Like a lab beaker- measured up to 550ml liquid in 10ml increments
Measures far more accurately than other measuring jugs. Measures liquid up to 550ml, in 10ml increments, so if you need to measure accurately, it is great. Pour spout. No handle (so hot liquids are more difficult). Also measures up to 440g rice, 520g sugar, and 370g flour, without my having to get out the kitchen scale. It is glass- my husband dropped it quite hard on a concrete floor, and it smashed, but general day to day durability seemed fine. We bought another. Both arrived very quickly. My other Pyrex is far thicker and more indestructible, but doesn’t measure as accurately. It is similar to a lab beaker. Very happy with this.

Stronger than the other makes
I ordered this after purchasing several smaller 400ml borosilicate beakers which all broke fairly quickly. One broke while I was stirring something in it and another broke closing the dishwasher too hard. So I looked for something stronger and this certainly is thicker glass. I cannot understand what other people are saying about it being thin and weak. They obviously have not used Academy, SIMAX etc type beakers because those are noticeably thinner than this Pyrex beaker. So far it has worked as intended in the month that I have had it and survived some minor mishandling and drops into the sink.It is not built like a bear mug but will survive changes in temperature which a bear mug will not take and believe me I have shattered a number of bear mugs with too great a change of temperature too quickly.

Really makes your cooking feel like proper chemistry
Really makes your cooking feel like proper chemistry! Best beaker I've found for precise measurements. Just be very careful on the draining board, that spout is very easy to break on pretty much anything it comes into contact with. (Although as soon as I broke it I ordered another as a replacement, so if you're less clumsy than me one should suffice!)

Nice design
Had this product before, really liked it as very precise Found it very easy to use, had to buy a replacement after many years pleased I could find same thing. Only downside, its difficult to handle if full of hot liquid

Great for the kitchen, not just the labs.
Really well made, but then everything from Pyrex is, These things feel like they can take few knocks without breaking. They have really clear markings for accurate measurements and I have tested against the scales and they are pretty accurate. I own all 3 sizes, way better than jugs with 50ml separations.
