Superb pad
The evans pad is a great practice pad, i had a remo pad before this and was very dissapointed by the noise of it as i wanted to practice at night when my son was asleep upstairs, but there was no chance of this. I have had the evans pad for a few months now and am very pleased with it, it is quiet and you get a good rebound off both sides, one being made of gum rubber and the other a harder plastic rubber (which is louder but fine for the day time). I use it mainly for practicing rudiments and so far i cannot fault it. Money well spent.

GOOD product
GOOD practice pad. I was afraid the size was not big enough. It is actually perfect for practicing. The 2-sided solution works very well and it changes the feeling. I definitely recommend it. If you are in doubt, go for it. It's a bit more expensive than others but I think it's worth it.

must-have for any drummer
perfect size if you need to practise stick technique; the smaller diameter will force you to play on spot in the center. One side is the normal dense rubber pad surface with a medium rebound, the other, darker side has a slightly coarser rubber surface with a harder rebound. I like both. The weight is great to put down on one knee, couch, table, floor - whatever you like to practise on, the double-sided pad might be a bit heavy to take on travels as I tend to travel light (0,5kg). I use a rubber mat without the wood for travels (weighing only a few grammes). Must have for drummers - beginners or pros.

Good value for money
These are some of the best value for money practice pads. I have tried quite a few at my music school such as the Drumeo P4 and the Vic Firth heavy hitter. All of these feel great but the Evans one feels the best (personal preference though). I have both the 6 inch and 12 inch. The 6 inch is great for traveling. It is lightweight and compact. Four stars in the review instead of five because they could have built them a bit better. You can see the glue on the sides and wood between the two pads is a bit cheap. If it gets wet (by accident of course) it is game over. Also the logo will start to decay and eventually disappear if you play on it (unlike the Vic Firth). The pads feel really good. The response on the soft side is great and it emulates a snare quite nicely. The rough side is also very good with less response which makes it great to practice if you want to challenge yourself (and you should!). Overall it is great value for money, great feel and I would recommend it. - the pictures are with the 6inch model.

Feels really great
Excellent. I use this at least 2 hours a day. Take it on holiday and in the car. I place on a folded tea towel too reduce the vibrations of whatever table it sits on to further reduce sound.

Great little pad
Excellent little pad for when I'm travelling, I had one of the older small Evans pads with screw bush underneath but this was quite heavy to lug about. This one however is lightweight but well made. Stick bounce is surprisingly good on both sides. Highly recommended.

Great product
Present for hubby who's been a drummer for years but never had a practice pad. He loves it! Great quality. Delivered quickly. We'll worth the money.

Love this pad
Love this pad! I mainly use the darker, harder side for snare practice. Doesn't make much noise and feels pretty realistic.

Back in the 1980s I did some drum corps drumming, but haven't done much since. I decided, on a whim, to pick up a pair of sticks and a practice pad and see if I had any chops left, so I grabbed this Evans pad, and I'm glad I did. The size is nice, you can't put it in your pocket, but you can throw it in a backpack or other small bag. Having two sides is great. The light grey side is softer rubber so more bounce, the dark side feels more like the tight kevlar heads of my DCI days, so that's the only one I use. Bonus to that is that the soft rubber side grabs better to the surface it's on, keeping it in place better. That said, the dark side is considerably louder than the light, and someone doing any serious drumming on the black side is going to be heard throughout the house, or wherever, unless behind closed doors. The light side is actually very quiet. I've been drumming pretty heavily on it since I got it a few weeks ago, and it still looks like new, so the durability seems great. Happy with my Evans pad, now if I can just get my chops back.
