This is by far one of the nicest G-Shocks that I have come across. The face is chunky, depth wise, and so might not get along with a tight fitting cuff. But because this is a solar charged watch I tend to let it sit outside the cuff and Its usually worn in casual clothing anyway. I find this watch to be very cool looking and stylish, even though is designed to target the Rescue service market. It doesn't look out of place in any situation other than when wearing a suit. It's also worth noting that I have a very small wrist and I found the new mudman too big for me and it just didn't 'hug' my wrist like this model does. And because the strap is soft and matte it makes it even better and there isn't lots of excess strap sticking out which I find with most G-Shock. It's also I very light! I kinda wanted a bit of weight to this but it's so light. You can be guaranteed of very accurate timekeeping too due to this watche being atomic, meaning that it updates the time every day making it accurate right down to the seconds. Of several negative displays I have come across in the G-Shock range this one is the easiest to read but I do find myself using the light often enough. In terms of functions this watch has all you need and more for the average guy and it all works very well. My only complaint is that this watch has frozen on me twice and I've only had it a month. If this happens to you, you can press three buttons at once to reset it. I think it's the two buttons on the left and one of the buttons on the right. This works for a lot of G-Shocks if they freeze or act up on you. Overall this is a nice fitting stylish and functional rugged watch and I'd recommend it to people in the services (if the thickness of the watch won't be an issue) and to G-Shock fans/collectors who like a stylish G! (Eminem wears this G! Which will help sales!) I'm not a very good reviewer but I hope this helps answer some questions buyers may have.

There are so many reviews online of this watch that the spec hardly bears repeating but what do I think? Classic G-Shock case design though slightly oversized to make it appear bulletproof. Makes it hard to slide slim or tailored cuffs over it due to the increased height. Despite the size it doesn't actually look too big on the wrist and is very comfortable due to the additional 'wings' covering where the strap meets the case. Multiband 6, Tough Solar and the usual G-Shock features mean it is a watch that is truly accurate and should need virtually no maintenance. Looks fabulous in the black with the negative LCD. After reading the reviews I was actually surprised how easy it was to read. I can see it isn't for everyone but combined with the automatic backlight I have never had a single issue reading the display. Due to the darker display it is perhaps slightly more affected by reflections but with the right light the digits really stand out just like the photos. The only disadvantage worth noting is that you pay a big price premium over the standard watch to have the black version. It was a style choice for me in the end and I am glad I made it but it is hard to justify the extra money for any other reason. I assume it is so much more because this model isn't a UK official watch (it doesn't appear in the Casio UK website) but rather one destined for other markets.

I bought this particular model because it shows the phases of the Moon and the state of tidal flow. I find this handy as I live on the shore of a sea loch and own a small boat. The Moon phase is set automatically and is linked to your chosen city while the local tide times can be set manually. It is also waterproof. My other main reasons for purchase were that the time setting is radio controlled and the watch is solar powered. The first more or less guarantees accuracy whilst the second saves bothering about changing batteries. It has a number of other functions, such as alarm and stopwatch, but I will probably not use them. They are also handy to have, however, as available options. My use will tend to be local, but World Travellers can easily adjust the watch to suit their travels. The main display is digital with a neat calendar. I understand some have difficulty reading the display, but I don't. It would be hard to describe it as a dress watch. It is large and chunky on the wrist, but the strap fit is really comfortable. I bought it as it is specifically designed to be unaffected by knocks and shocks normally experienced in active outdoor pursuits and, for this purpose, I think it not only looks the part, but actually is the part.

Nach vierzehn Jahren treuer Dienste habe ich meine alte G-Shock, welche langsam in Ihre Einzelteile zerfiel, in den verdienten Ruhestand versetzt. Diese hier wurde Ihr Nachfolger. Gesucht habe ich eine robuste Uhr für den militärischen Dienst und starke Arbeitsbeastungen. Nachdem ich mit meiner alten Uhr gute Erfahrungen gemacht hatte, sollte es ein moderneres Exemplar werden. Zielvorgaben waren: einfach ablesbar, unauffällig in Form und Farbe, möglichst unabhängige Stromversorgung, verlässliche Genauigkeit, schnell umschaltbare Z-/UTC-Zeit, Stoppuhr, Datum, nicht allzu auffällige Beleuchtung. Alle Vorgaben wurden erfüllt. Die Uhr lässt sich in der vorgewählten Heimatzeitzone im oberen Anzeigenbereich zwischen Datum und einer weiteren Zeitzone (UTC voreingestellt) umstellen. Darüber hinaus hällt das Display weitere Anzeigen für die erfolgreiche Synchronisation mit dem Zeitsender, den Akkustand, verschiedene optionale Einstellungen, die Mondphase und die vorraussichtliche Tidenaktivität an zu. Somit lässt sich alles wichtige auf einen Blick sehen und man macht nie wieder einen Trip zur Nordseh ohne Wasser zu finden... Die Zeit synchronisiert sich über die Weltweit verteilten Zeitsender und ruft die Daten mehrmals, bis zu einer erfolgreichen Übermittlung ab. Die Empfangsstärke des Senders wird bei einer manuellen Synchronisation stufenweise angezeigt. Die Stromversorgung erfolgt über Solarzellen und eine Pufferbatterie. Entsprechend dem Füllstand wählt die Uhr verschiedene abgestufte Betriebsarten, um Energie zu sparen. Nach Herstellerangaben ist ein Normalbetrieb auch ohne Ladephasen über mehrere Monate möglich. Dies wird wohl aber nur bei einem Aufenthalt in einem unbeleuchteten Bunker in Anspruch genommen werden, da selbst einige Stunden Leuchtstoffröhrenlicht für den Betrieb ausreichen. Nach dem Auspacken war meine Uhr auf mittlerer Betriebsspannung und erreicht in kurzer Zeit an der Herbstsonne den höchsten Ladezustand. Die Beleuchtung ist Werkszustand auf Automatik eingestellt. Was bei meiner anderen analogen Casio ein willkommener Komfort ist, kann hier zu ungewollter Auslösung durch den Bewegungssensor führen. Die Funktion lässt sich aber einfach deaktivieren. Zudem sind drei Beleuchtungszeiten wählbar. Die Beleuchtungsfarbe ist relativ dunkel und grün. Sie ist aber gut gewählt, da sie genau das richtige Maß an Intensität für gute Ablesbarkeit in der Dunkelheit bereitstellt ohne als Leuchtturm zu fungieren. Bei der Bedienbarkeit hat Casio in den letzten Jahren Fortschritte gemacht. Die Bedienung mit den fünf Tastern ist gewohnt intuitiv, hält im vergleich zur alten Version nun aber die möglichkeit bereit, Zeiten und Option nach oben und unten zu korrigieren ohne einmal alles durchlaufen lassen zu müssen. Countdown, Stopp-Uhr, Weltzeit und Mond/Tide lassen sich gut bedienen und lassen keine Wünsche offen. Sie ist wasserdicht bis in unmenschliche Tiefen, aber nicht getaucht bedienbar. Wer also in 200m Tiefe eine Zeit stoppen will, muss sich eine andere Uhr suchen ;-) Für alle anderen, die kein modisches Accessoir suchen, sondern eine verlässliche Uhr ohne übertriebenen Schnickschnack, ist sie die richtige Wahl. Die Uhr ist auf jeden Fall ihr Geld wert. Wenn diese Uhr mich wieder über zehn Jahre begleitet, ist sie die Bestätigung all meiner guten Erfahrungen mit Casio und ein echtes Schnäppchen. Nachtrag nach einigen Jahren: Nachdem ich die Uhr nun seid einigen Jahren täglich bei der Arbeit trage, hier mein erstes Langzeitfeedback: Die Uhr sieht, bis auf ein bisschen Schmutz in den Rollen des Armband aus wie am ersten Tag. Der Akku ist immer voll, wobei ich sie auch ab und zu auf die Fensterbank lege. Ich habe nach kurzer Zeit eine der Zierschrauben verloren, die aber schnell und kostenlos von Casino ersetzt wurde. Ich habe dann einfach alle fest geklebt und hatte nie wieder Probleme. Mein Fazit: Wind, Wetter, verschiedene Klimazonen, Wasser und starke mechanische Belastung hat die Uhr spurlos weg gesteckt. Fünf Sterne, jetzt erst recht! Weitere Zeit später: Es gab immer noch keine weiteren Probleme. Auch nach Wochen in Regen, Schnee, Bergen, Schlamm, Sport, Hitze und viel Schweiß hält die Casio durch. Nun habe ich so langsam die ersten Gebrauchsspuren, aber selbst das Glas ist noch fast wie neu. Erstaunlich!

Cette montre est un vrai petit bijou! Solidité, heure universelle + pilotage radio, etc. tous des avantages d'une montre utile. C'est ma 2e G-shock que j'achète... j'en suis fan! Comme je l'ai dis pour mon autre montre je tiens à le redire pour celle-ci: Dans le cadre professionnel, j'ai été agréablement surpris de la résistance du boîtier et du bracelet. J'ai reçu quelques petits coups (pieds et ou poings) ou chute au sol et pas une griffe! Solidité assurée! Une vraie merveille en béton... Concernant son fonctionnement solaire, on peut dire qu'à long terme c'est économique. Plus besoin de nouvelle pile après "X" années. En général quand on change de pile, pour garder l'efficacité de l'étanchéité de la montre il faut la retourner chez G-shock afin du faire des essaies. Grâce à ce système plus besoin. Je recommande donc cette montre aux personnes ayant régulièrement des contacts physique dans leur milieu professionnel (policier, agent de gardiennage/sécurité).

Toujours à l'heure grâce au multiband 6, de Belgique il se connecte sans souci entre 2 et 4 heures du matin chaque jour pour une précision totale, solaire, résistante... Alternative de la casio gw m 5610u ...

Es robusto como todos los G-Shock. Llama la atención por su color negro mate, su fondo oscuro y su robustez. No hay que cambiar batería, porque se carga por célula solar, (Lo que ahorra batería, y lo que es mejor, abrir y cerrar un reloj que es hermético hasta 20 Bares), ni preocuparse por ponerlo en hora, ya que lo hace automáticamente radiocontrolado por emisión de ondas desde los relojes atómicos de Alemania y Reino Unido (en el caso de Europa) con la exactitud al segundo que proporciona este sistema. Como información sobre la recepción de la señal horaria, suelo navegar por las costas de Huelva y en el transcurso de la noche se me actualiza la hora sin ningún problema. *Cuidado con esto amigos canarios, pues según tengo entendido hasta allí no llega la emisión de ajuste horario. Tiene una gráfica de mareas, donde indica las amplitudes y horarios de la misma (solo en gráfica, no registra alturas ni horario exactos al minuto) cuando se le ingresa por primera vez el dato de la 1ª pleamar del día para el lugar que se necesite. Dato obtenido de cualquier tabla de mareas oficial (por web o publicación del Instituto Hidrográfico de la Armada para el caso de España). Una vez realizado este paso, el programa gestiona de ahí en adelante todas las crecientes y vaciantes del lugar, (como digo, solo como onda gráfica) pudiendo consultarse por fecha y hora el dato de marea que se requiera, siempre del mismo lugar que hayamos registrado la marea en el reloj. Para consultar el de otro lugar, hay que volver a ingresar la hora de la 1ª marea del día como al principio, y de ese modo queda registrado de ahí en adelante las constantes de dicho lugar. Las fases lunares, dato que no es que sea muy necesario pero como curiosidad para mi es bienvenida, se aprecian también fielmente en un circulo gráfico a la izquierda de la pantalla, siendo también bastante fiel al lugar registrado (en este caso de una extensa lista de capitales del mundo donde se encuentra Madrid (Mad)). En fin, lo más importante es que te despreocupas de ponerlo en hora, -con una exactitud atómica-, y no tenerlo que abrir más, al menos hasta que la batería recargable interna empiece a dar problemas, lo que auguro que no ocurrirá en muchos años (O eso espero...)
