As close to a masterpiece as you can get.
The Witchers 3 is an open world RPG, it has a large world to explore with people, elves, dwarfs, mages and monsters. The game has an excellent story which is shaped by your choices, a great part of this game is seeing a decision made earlier in the game either impact the story or have a result down the line. This game offers some of the best value for money, not only is the main story and its quests, engaging and enjoyable. The side quests and Witcher contracts are just a entertaining, in fact I liked some the side quests more than one of the main story parts. It is hard to find fault with this game, I only found two elements which weren't as flawless as the rest of the game, fall damage, I died from drops of about three feet and the horse sometimes gets stuck when you call it. These are such minor flaws but it's all I found in my first play-through.As for the performance, I saw no glitches, bugs or crashes in over 100 hours playtime. We have no long load times which are sometimes seen in large open world or some other AAA titles. After completing the game, I was eager to start from the beginning again and make different choices so that I can see all this game offers which is testament to the quality of this game.

The best RPG on PS4
Without doubt, the best RPG on the Playstation 4.If you haven’t played the Witcher or the Witcher 2 before I would recommend at least reading up on the background stories. The Witcher 3 weaves many of the events of the first two games into its storyline, introducing characters that appeared in both previous games, and plot points that are directly related to decisions you made in the Witcher 2. The game allows you to simulate the choices made in the Witcher 2, so as to preserve some of your own personal decisions in the last game. It’s not necessary, but it certainly enhances the experience if you know what occurred in the previous games. The world is vast and diverse and the progress well-paced. As you begin to tire of riding around the vast wilderness of Velen, you are introduced to the city of Novigrad. The quests within the city, the gameplay, has a completely different character to those of the wilderness, with issues more political, actions more covert. This change in tone and pace come again once you move onto the next area, the Skellige Islands, where the vast wilderness is replaced by vast seas beneath which underwater wrecks, treasures, monsters, and puzzles, lurk in the depths.Combat is action based, but does require some tactics when facing off against particular foes. In combat, you rely on three basic elements; your swords (Silver and Steel), your signs (magic), and potions. Swords can be enhanced at the blacksmith, coated in poisons and oils, and upgraded using runes, and combat skills. Signs consist of defensive (Shield/Slow down/Control) and offensive (Fire, Telekinetics) skills, which can be altered as you upgrade your skills to produce new effects in and out of combat. Lastly, potions can be crafted by gathering recipes and ingredients from across the lands. These can enhance your combat skills in numerous different ways, from increasing your speed, adding regenerative effects, to slowing down time. Potions, however, come at a price, for they poison the body, and too much toxicity makes you vulnerable to damage. Certain monsters are vulnerable to certain combinations, and when hunting particularly difficult creatures it’s generally best to prepare the right oils and potions for the fight. Knowledge is as good a weapon as your Silver sword.10/10 – If you like RPGs, and you haven’t’ played this, it is a must buy.

Crazy value now with still so much to do after completing the main story
This game is ridiculous value, the main thread story itself took me a month and a half of play on and off though this is someone with a full time job, and other stuff going on, and I've still some Witcher contracts, secondary quests and tons of ? areas to get to including the x2 expansions.Definitely a game geared toward 18+ owing to its story, themes, various limb dismemberments and some of the romance (romance = basically plenty of sex scenes, if you play the game a certain way). Horizon Zero Dawn it is not.If you're into RPG's there's a ton of crafting of oils, potions, mutagens, character building and more .. it's crazy. Definitely more so than your average RPG, and more so than recent releases, e.g. AC: Origins. The visuals are good, especially on a PS4 Pro, where you can now experience the massive world and its content in HDR and higher res if you want, which of course you do, however the game is also over 3 years old at this point, so it's no God of War or Horizon Zero Dawn in visuals. But it makes me excited of where CD Projekt Red go with the next game. The other thing to mention is the combat has been criticised in the past, which I kind of agree on, but you are able to add skills to the character for cool sword moves. I think combat is ok, not great and gets samey after a while. I actually dislike the swimming more. There are times where the game doesn't seem to let you do what you want, or not responsive enough, like swimming to surface for instance.... usually this is the case if there is an enemy nearby, then forget about it. You either sort out the enemy or die... For these reasons I say 4/5 stars, well worth a go as an immersive and crazy long RPG.

This game is absolutely superb, and probably the best game I’ve ever played. The story, side quests, and overall immersive experience is second to none. Weeks and weeks worth of content too.
