Sony CMT-SBT100B All-in-one Audio System with Wireless Streaming, 50W - Black

I have long purchased Sony hi-fi's for their ease of use, superior sound quality and stylish design. This latest CMT is no exception, the component unit and speakers are very compact, ideal for my use, where they have to fit on a small unit under the staircase in our lounge. The finish of the unit is a nice brushed metal and the buttons are logically arranged on the front and on the included remote. A major difference from the older Sony hi-fi's is that there is no cd eject button on the remote, but this is not a problem for long!The display is very clear, white LCD's and in DAB mode, can display the station name and song playing. It is a shame the clock does not display in standby as on my old Sony but assume it is power saving feature.The speakers are well made and in a nice black ash wood with removable covers, they look stylish on or off, and the unit is lovely in any home. The sound quality is excellent and the sound is lovely and rich and you have bass and treble sound adjustments, and Mega Bass so everyone will find a happy medium. I have paired my ipod and the songs stream over fine, the only niggle is at first use of the Cd player, please wait does stay on a while but I haven't found it to be a problem.All in all, I am pleased to upgrade to the CMT after years of owning older Sony CMT's and the sound is fantastic for a unit of the price. Amazon sell them at a good saving over Sony's RRP, which is 249.99 I would recommend it to anyone wanting a great sounding hi-fi.

I am so pleased I bought this system. I am no connoisseur, but I think the sound is great and more than loud enough for my needs. The CD player takes time to load but no longer than the Philips model I had previously. The controls on both the system and remote control are easy to use. I think It looks good and doesn't take up too much room. It has a sleep function which is useful as the system is in my bedroom. The blue light display is not too intrusive and is not bright enough to cause sleep disturbance. I haven't used the wake/alarm facility so cannot comment on that. I am able to get a good reception on all DAB stations without the need to buy an additional aerial. Some people may find the speaker leads a little short; my speakers are placed directly beside the unit so it's not an issue for me. I love this system, I think it represents good value for money and would recommend it to others.

Bought this as I like my CD collection and I wanted a CD player but wanted to play wirelessly as well and this fitted perfectly in the space on my TV stand and its a front loading CD player. The Bluetooth works great so I can play music from my nexus tablet via Bluetooth without leaving the sofa. How good is that,(I used the near field technology, in other words I placed my tablet on top is the Sony and it found it automatically and it just synched itself, really impressed! ) I'm not a technology wizz, far from it but I had it up and running In no time so I was dead chuffed, not bad for a granny. You can sync upto 9 different divices, so my kids/grandchildren can play their music too, tho I understand the I phone doesn't support the near field technology, but then you have to do it the long way by downloading something? but my Son has an I phone and he's got it playing his music from his phone. The small Bluetooth light is a bit bright It's electric blue, when you are using it. And when its on standby it has a small red light. (You can only turn it off at the mains to stop it glowing red). The radio works well , I've preset it to my favourite station,I use FM radio, it also has digital radio, but I've not tried this. The speaker's are nice and compact, the only criticism is that the leads for them are really short(roughly about a metre in length or 3ft to me!) The sound quality s not as good as my Bose speakers but it's still pretty good. all in all I'm really pleased with it.

Purchased this as a xmas present for my daughter.1. Out of the box - sets up takes just a couple of minutes, very easy2. Sound quality - bass & treble can be adjusted seperatly and a bass boost function exists. Easy to acheive a deep, thumping sound3. Remote control - easy & straightforward to operate, covers all the essential functions4. DAB radio - comes with a thin wire for an ariel, but even so it gives a good, clear reception5. CD - works fine / easy to use6. Connectivity - usb connection at front, but could not play an Ipod Touch 4th gen through it - although it would charge the IpodAt rear it has the usual "audio in" jack socket and this works perfectly for Ipod / Tab computor etc7. Looks - a subjective thing, but personally I love it's appearance, - has an air of subtle quality8. Price - the same unit from a local store would have cost £60 more than AmazonFinally - overall it just gives that feel of quality, - solid and chunky with a nice tone.My daughter is very pleased with my pressy, - err I mean her pressy !!

I had been looking around for some time, trying to find a compact unit, that wasn't too small like alot of the mini/micro systems out there. This is just right for me. Solid construction with easy to see and use buttons on the front. Also a nice, simple, easy to use remote control. The sound quality is very good, especially with the bass boost function. Really rich sound. I use mine in a large open plan kitchen/dining/living area, and it easily fills the whole area with good,rich sound. I like the fact that u can remove the front covers off the speakers to suit your preferred look. I was originally looking for a built in docking system for my Ipod, but am delighted to report that the Bluetooth function works extremely well. The ipod/smart phone does not necessarily need to be placed on top of the unit as described, it will pick it up from across the room, or even upstairs... as my Son had great fun doing!!!!I cannot comment on the DAB function as we live in rural Co Kerry and have no signal here, but I'm sure it'll work well when we move back to the UK next year. Analogue tuner worked well, picked up local stations no problem. All in all a great little Hi-Fi system.
