A good mix of strong and subtle colours.
I'm very happy with the Kuretake MC20/6V (STARRY COLOURS) set. The set contains six large watercolour pans, each filled around halfway, and marked on the reverse. The pans are packaged in a protective tray with plenty of impact space around them, which meant that all of my set arrived undamaged. This is then packaged in a semi-rigid slip case with a windowed front. The colours take a while to work into a paintable mix. This is typical of all mica paints, and wasn't too much hassle once the brush was loaded. In terms of colour range, the paints are great. There are some heavy base colours (901,902,903), and some lighter wash tones (904,905,906). I'm using them for highlighting and dry brushing, and for this use the set is perfect. The attached images show what the paints are like applied in a single layer to a sheet of ivory paper, and when applied as a base and highlighter on a Funko Pop! figure that I'm painting.Overall the set is great, and I'm happy to have paid £10.34 for them.

Absolutely beautiful paints. Highly Recommended.
THE BEST paints I've used. I totally love Kuretake Waterolour paints and highly recommend them to all. The colours are truly wonderful and have this magical feeling when using them. They flow nicely, but also lend themselves into being controlled. The colours really are amazing, and the Starry Paints are a hidden bit of magic.I love to work in small and miniature, so making ACEO's and ATC's with Kuretake paints is a total pleasure, and anything I've painted using these paints, and blogged about, have always been well received by my followers - and in some cases, a couple of followers have gone on to buy these paints themselves.I've attached two photographs of the exact same ATC - which measure 2.5" x 3.5" - one photograph is taken with the flash and the other without the flash. This is to show the paint colours and how vibrant they are, and the photo with the flash is to show you how magical the Starry Watercolours are. They show up like you've painted tiny diamonds - but with the naked eye they aren't so 'in your face' as they are in the photograph taken with the flash. Sadly I'm not a great photographer, so the only way I could show you the Starry Watercolours was to do a photo with the flash on.At least it gives you an idea of what the starry paints can do.GREAT paints. Highly recommend.

Absolutely worth the money for me! Beautiful!
These watercolours have an absolutely beautiful shine to them which I was blown away by when I first tried them. I assumed they were going to have a slight sheen to them, but you can see the very, very small glitters in it as you activate it with watercolour and when added to a piece it really brings it to life and draws you in when the light hits it.I will say, however, that I was a bit disappointed with some of the shades which were quite similar to each other (from my picture you may be able to tell that white and light almost look identical and champagne and yellow are very similar). I will be using these small variations of colour a lot as I'm an artist, but for a hobbyist you probably won't need all 6 of these and I'd recommend buying the pans of these colours. My favourites are red gold (as it is the most visible) and champagne. They are very translucent, but that is to be expected from watercolours. I've found the best way to get pigment from them is to use a waterbrush to wet and activate the paint, before going in with a dry paint brush to pick up the paint without watering it down further. Also, adding these shimmers to other colours of paints works beautifully. I mixed some of champagne with a deep rose colour when painting some flowers and it looked magical.

Good as Gold
As far as Gold watercolours go these are nice. Some other brands can be quite translucent so it's nice to use some that lay down nice. Most gold paints look better on darker paper but I found these if mixed well do look very opaque. Could be used for calligraphy if you have a steady hand. Nice range of gold’s as well. I like to use them with ordinary watercolours. The sparkly pigment will mix in your water so best to use two different pot to clean out your brushes if painting with normal watercolours as well. I would highly recommend these.

Beautiful paints, wish it was fuller though.
The paint is beautiful, but I wish the pans were a little fuller as I see me using this a lot, so will probably run out quickly. That said, they are gold/ silver etc so I will use them sparingly for highlights etc, and they will hopefully last a long time. I have bought a tin similar to the Prima Marketing 12 Half-pan tin , and used Blue-tack to hold the pans in place, this way I can re-use the tin when I have finished the paints.

Beautiful paint
These paints are amazing to use, with a few swirls of the brush and the smallest amount of water you can create a beautiful full bodied paint which glows on the page.
