Disappointing
On the basis of Judith Miller's previous books and TV appearances I've been a big fan; however, this autobiography seems mostly a catalogue of important people she's known. Even when she's describing interesting places where she's worked, the writing is not particularly interesting. I've read only half the book so far, but I'm not optimistic that the second half will be much better.

It also give a very good insight into The New York Times
A very interesting insight into the background for the Iraq war. May be a little self-serving, but may be not. I believe Judith Miller. It also give a very good insight into The New York Times, which seems more, at times, as an outlet for their own agenda than for reporting the news

An important story. The behind-the-scenes material before the printed was fascinating.
The growth of a reporter and the continual battle for the First Amendment was intriguing. A well written story that should be required reading for every student of journalism and political. Science.

I'm personally quite left, generally more politically aligned with Miller's critics than her champions, and I found the book fascinating and really well written. Anyone who spends all day studying and monitoring global threats (and threats to American soil and interests) is no doubt riddled with anxiety on the subject of national security. I thought Miller did a great job of providing insight into the genuine thinking (not the politicking) of those whose responsibility it is to keep Americans safe. It's no surprise that group think set in... of course, resulting in massive tragedy that persists to this day. I think the excoriation Miller continues to experience is a weird kind of poetry: again, group think, this time at the Times (and beyond). I would encourage independent thinkers to really read the book, not just use it to justify something you are already passionate about one way or the other. It's a rare opportunity to read a Pulitzer Prize reporter reporting on herself. Overall, I felt the book was remarkable contribution to our national record relating to the very tragic war in Iraq, and to the field of journalism.

however I enjoyed her book
I don't agree with some of Judy's political opinions, however I enjoyed her book. The book gave insight into the difficulty in getting a news story into print.

Thought it got a little self serving at times. Was impressed with the legwork she did to cover the Middle East.

Great story in terms of the writing
Great story in terms of the writing, but I loathe this style of having all the pages be different lengths and ragged along the edges. Ugh.
