Heddon Zara Spook Topwater Fishing Lure - Legendary Walk-The-Dog Lure

I like Heddon lures and used them for many years. Received the package on time.However, with the Zara Spook Flitter Shad, I can see all kinds of glitter bouncing around inside the package. It's already coming off before I've even opened the package. Not only is the glitter coming off, it appears to be poorly applied to the lure. There is a gob of glitter at the tail on the right side compared to the rest of the lure, and a very inconsistent amount on each side. Is it supposed to be like this?It's like someone rubbed some glue on the sides and then sprinkled some glitter on it. Poor quality control (?) and if it's coming off in the packaging, how long will it last in the water? With all the manufacturing tech and seeing all the other lures out there that have beautiful sparkle patterns, surprised Heddon didn't find a better way to incorporate a glitter pattern.Also, the first and second picture the seller posted for this product are two different lures. The one I received looks like the second in-package picture.Edit: Did some research, and it seems this lure is supposed to be a modern version of a much older Heddon lure(s) from back the day, when Heddon applied glitter to some of their wooden lures in the same manner. Keep it or send it back? I'm on the fence.

Heddon Zara Puppy LureHeddon lures have been in my family since I was a kid in the late 50's and sixties. I remember my older brother and I sneaking up on a pond in Oklahoma near Stroud, to get ready for a dawn day of fishing and he got there first with a lucky 13, big and loud plop and the 3-4 lb. large mouth bass he hooked into and landed. Biggest bass I had ever seen up close and for most of my youth. We had them at Boy Scout Camp near Cleveland and the Ark River, where you never knew what would bite in that water. This little lure catches fish. I like it for four stars.

This is a fantastic lure, Florida bass seem to love it, have used them in different patterns and sizes for years. The 4 stars instead of 5 is for the hooks that come on the puppy version, they are too small and too weak for a big bass. First thing I do after buying a spook is to upgrade the treble hooks. These original hooks just have to go. Other than that the lure is fantastic.

Classic lure. A bit smaller than its brother the Zara spook jr. A good option for smallies.With many top water options on the market, What sets it apart is the sound. The rattles really call the fish in for a look.My only issue with this lure is that it picks up any debris in it’s path. But such is top water fishing I suppose.

One of the most unexpected memorable catches I had as a kid was using this lure - these are large floating surface lures and as advertised when you get a strike it's a major fish show, unfortunately the one I received does not rattle. Lures are better purchased at a local bait shop (if such a thing still exits in your area) and in person.

First let me say this, no one pays me or gives me free products for writing reviews so what I say is my biased opinion. So my opinion is that this is a great lure, just wish the dad gum King Mack that swallowed it and destroyed my line had not thought it was such a great lure too. Lost him and the lure, but had a great experience. So despite the lack of someway to keep the lure from staying in the ocean, I have to give the doggone thing five stars.(Red and white has always been my first choice in colors....Snook seem to like em)

I use many top waters, but this has to be in my TOP 3!!! Took it out 2 weekends in a row and I must say this one lure caught me over 15 big bass DAILY! Pike absolutely hit this like they haven't eaten in months!I love it so much that the wind took it on a rope in the middle of the lake and I swam to get it lol.Amazing walking action and the tail end sticks down perfectly. I just ordered a second!

Been using it for a couple months, the action on it is pretty awesome, especially when walking the dog. Although I still have not caught any fish on it.Caught a couple seagulls on it, they thought it was a fish on topwater.Nothing too good about it. I would recommend not wasting your money and find a better lure.

No, llegó como lo pedí, me lo mandaron torpedo y no Sara Spook. Aparte llegó más grande.. No digo que los torpedo sean malos pero yo quería Sara.
