Good book. Bought this for a Roman History nut. He is well impressed with content , knowledge and integrity of the subject.

Very Attractive Table Book on Ancient Rome!

Excellent book

I love DK books for their approachability and the quality of the images.

The amount of detail in each section is perfect to get a good understanding of each subject. As book follows a long time line over the history of the city and its place in the empire it all links together giving the reader a better insight into Roman life. Having been on holiday in Rome several times my next visit will be through a different viewpoint. I wont be an expert but more knowledgeable!!

It is such a beautifully curated book, with top quality illustrations, both photo and drawings, absolutely gorgeous. Very happy with it.

Three stars which is a little unfair but is based on the Kindle version which splits pages across different sceens meaning that you struggle to get the full picture (pardon the pun). However, the information it provides is very good and it is extremly colourful, lots of disgarms ect. But am sure that an anctul book version would make for easier use.

This is a great companion volume to reading other books about Ancient Rome, or a stand-alone tome to prepare for travel to Roman sites or museums with Roman artifacts. Well-organized history so you can quickly find what you wish to know. BEAUTIFUL book worthy of gift-giving or for anyone who loves books. A BARGAIN at this price. A team of 10 Professors of history contributed the knowledge contained within. I bought this to go along with listening to the Roman History podcast. I also bought a few other Ancient Rome books, and this will help me integrate everything, plus see the real (ruined) buildings, mosaics, jewelry, etc of the time. A great find. 400 pages. I am going to put my money where my mouth is and buy 2 more of the DK histories right now. NOTE: some of their books are in cooperation with The Smithsonian. I cannot recommend these enough. I would definitely gift these, and I now want to own them ALL.
