Heartwarming
Emmy loves working for Rupert at La Cour des Roses. She's managing the guesthouse and feels right at home there. She is exactly where she belongs, being in France among people she treasures. She's about to get married to Alain and she can't wait to be his wife. However, the preparations for the wedding are going far from smoothly. Emmy has asked her mother to help with the organization and even though her interference is welcome time wise it is quite a struggle in all other areas. Emmy's mother is a handful and she's making things difficult for Emmy, Alain and Emmy's friends. Will Emmy be able to fix this problem? When the wedding comes nearer something starts feeling wrong and this is threatening Emmy's happiness once more. A terrible family secret comes to the surface and Alain's ex is causing trouble. This puts Emmy and Alain's relationship under pressure. Emmy has got the perfect wedding ahead of her, but will she actually have her much anticipated big day or will something ruin her plans and cause a rift between her and Alain?Summer at the Little French Guesthouse is another wonderful book about Emmy and her adventures in France. I enjoyed reading about La Cour des Roses again very much, it's one of my favorite fictional settings. It's such a gorgeous place and I had fun reading about Rupert's personal life, his guests and his dog as usual. Emmy is a sweetheart and wants to make everybody happy, but sometimes she needs to stand up for herself instead. She's a strong woman and she can handle more than she thinks. She has such a good personality and truly deserves a happy ending, I couldn't turn the pages quickly enough to see if she would get it and would actually marry the handsome Alain or not.Helen Pollard has written such a lovely series, I enjoyed reading the La Cour des Roses book from beginning to end. The most amazing thing about them is the atmosphere. I love the way Helen Pollard makes the guesthouse come to life, it's exactly how a cosy guesthouse in France should be. She writes about second chances, interesting relationships, friends, family and true love in a fabulous captivating way. She combines this with plenty of charm and entertainment. Summer at the Little French Guesthouse is another heartwarming feelgood story about Emmy and her friends. I will miss reading about them and highly recommend this series.

Fun series set in an idyllic setting
I enjoyed this series. I found it very entertaining and exactly as described. Feel good, interesting characters, beautiful setting ( can I go there to visit?) and satisfying ending. Take it to the beach or that quiet resort where you can indulge in some restorative reading.

I agree completely with readers who say they are sad to see this storyline end
I agree completely with readers who say they are sad to see this storyline end. This third book in the series is just as delightful and well written as the first two. I truly appreciate Ms. Pollard's excellent writing and the way in which she brings her characters to life on the page. I would love to see a 4th, 5th, and even a 6th book about The Little French Guest House but it appears that the author is on to other subjects, so from time to time I will no doubt type in her name here on Amazon to see if she has a new book published and will be happy to purchase a copy.

Mindless distraction for when you need it
Read this series in order. Good light romantic reading. Loved the setting, a guesthouse in rural France, and the characters were varied and interesting. Oddly, the heroine Emmy is somehow the one least “fleshed out.” She is a smart, hardworking and ambitious 30-something who turns her life around admirably, but I didn’t feel I ever really knew her. All the books have lots and lots of detail about the business, the food and the beauty of the guesthouse and region. This final one was a little overloaded (for me) with details of the huge wedding planned for Emmy and Alaine, since I’m more like Madam DuPont in my feelings about such extravaganzas. But it truly was a heck of a party. It was time to draw this series to a close, and the last chapter neatly tied up everybody's stories.

Lovely book!
Absolutely loved this book and it's characters! Definitely recommend this for lovers of a good romantic comedy. Plenty of drama thrown in there to spice things up too! I am thrilled that the series continues, and am currently on the 3rd book - Summer at the Little French Guesthouse.

Wonderful, charming, relaxing read
This being the 3rd book in the French Guesthouse series, I enjoyed them all especially this one. It brought tears to my eyes in parts and made me laugh in others. I loved the character of Rupert the best and look forward to more from Helen.

Great getaway read
These three books kept me coming back for more. The characters are very believable and are so much like the English and the French. The description of the country side and the towns have you the feeling of being there.
