used with riding lawn mower.. Works great and perfect fit.

So easy to remove old and put in new, Stopped the leak. Wish I had done it sooner.

Might be 5 star. the RS800 is notorious for seals on the shaft going bad quite quickly. These are the perfect OEM fit. The seal in the RS800 I took out had a smooth outer rim. These are ribbed. I used a little thread sealing compound around the outer circumference where it is ribbed.My mower started leaking grease from the left seal in 50 hrs use. This is an inexpensive, and easily done fix. Took about 30 minutes to replace without being in any hurry. Hopefully the ribbed version will hold up better. Too soon to say yet, but so far so good.I don't hear of any other problem at all with these transmissions. They operate with the convenience and smoothness of a hydrostatic without being one. Hold the promise of being more robust and longer lasting. If General Transmissions knows how to re-design the seal they should. It is the only blemish consistently seen on their product. And while your at it, put an opening in it for replenishing the grease even if it theoretically never needs it should it not leak.

This is the correct output seal for my mower. I had a worn seal that was leaking transmission grease around the output axle. My mower is a Poulan Pro 54 inch deck. The seal is for the General Transmissions transaxle RS800. This is a CVT type transmission. Service information may be found on the General Transmissions web site. Replacement is simple, but it does require the removal of the rear wheel. The same transaxle is used in many other mowers of a variety of brands. I had to do a lot of research to find this information. So, no, I do not know if this seal will fit your particular mower.

Used for my Ariens 46 inch w/ hydrostatic transmission. I was surprised just how easy it was to install. I figured I would come across a problem but I didn't and it only took 20 minutes. For those looking to add more fluid , there is a way but it requires you to drop the transmission. However in most cases you don't need to even if you have been leaking fluid for a while. The manufacturer of this particular transmission advises that there is way more grease than needed to keep it running so as long as you do not notice any performance issues you should be good to go once you replace the seals.

The seller was great and they delivered as advertised. Whether by design flaw or faulty construction, these seals do not stay in place in the transmission body. My old seal popped out which caused the initial failure. This new seal did as well (oem), so I assume they suffer from the same design flaw that was never corrected. I solved it by using RTV/adhesive on the outer seal edge against the housing and tightening a couple zip ties and a large washer around the axle shaft to hopefully keep it from sliding out again. So far it's holding after a dozen mowing sessions.
