Just what I was looking for. My rug was beginning to wear in front of the sofa. This is heavy enough to be sturdy. It does not curl, nor is it sticky. This doesn’t cause any further wear or difficulty walking on the rug. It seems very durable. The textured top prevents slippage. I was however, very surprised at the inflated price of this item.

Costs twice as much as identical runners. For what it is, it does what it's supposed to.
The price of this runner is outrageous. I cannot stress that enough. $52 for a 6' long clear, heavy vinyl runner is not merely expensive -- it's very literally twice as expensive as identical runners. I own others that I have bought out in town. I know whereof I speak. I am an Amazon Vine reviewer, which means I don't pay for products up front; I pay income tax to the IRS on the "value" at tax time. I would never buy this at the current price.Once I recovered from the price compared to what I got, I'm not disappointed in the thing for what it is. It's a clear vinyl runner. It does what it is supposed to do, which is protect my old, unfinished hardwood floor in the hallway outside my candle making workshop. I need that, because tracking wax outside my workshop will make sanding and refinishing the old floor much harder once I am ready to do that. I would not use this on a good hardwood floor with a nice finish. The vinyl teeth on the backside would scratch the finish on a nice wood floor.The runner doesn't lay flat, especially at the ends, but these things flatten out over time. If that bothers you, an ordinary blow dryer will soften it up enough to make it lay flat.For protecting floors, it's fine. For value compared to price? No way.

Won’t lay down
The mat will not lay down!!! Put weights on it and it still rolls up. There is not enough grippers on edge!!!! It’s a tripping hazard!!!! Save your money!

Thick and resiliant
Tip: roll out flat first so it is easier to use. I tried putting mine on my steps without rolling out and this wasn't staying put so I rolled out the plastic and placed on a flat surface and then after it was flat put it on the steps and everything worked much better. This is a thick plastic that will not wear out quickly. I have not felt like the plastic is moving as I walk it is staying put. Very happy with product
