Nice!
Douk audio makes some really nice products. I'm using this between a WiiM Ultra and my Studio Monitors. I'm not a music producer I just enjoy the needles moving as a throwback to earlier days. They seem accurate to me. The display is very customizable with many colors and ranges of brightness. Some reviewers have mentioned a hum and/or noise but that may be because of placement or lower quality cables. I'm using Monoprice Premium cables (Very reasonably priced) for my run and there is no noise whatsover. It's very nicely constructed and the display is gorgeous. It's really eye candy, but it's NICE eye candy! One minor item to note is that the button on the back to select line in or MIC is somehow reversed on mine. MIC=Line In and Line In=MIC. I don't know how this got past quality control and I'm a little disappointed but besides that all is good.

Looks good
Looks great as a VU meter. Doesn’t do anything else though but then who’s asking it to🤪

QA Issue Knocks a 5 Star Item Down to 4
The media could not be loaded. This is an awesome addition to an audio setup! Doesn’t provide anything other than some visuals, but watching those needles bounce around to your music is always worth it! My biggest complaint is that I spent few hours trying to track down an issue with a single channel cutting out; swapping cables, removing equipment from the setup, etc.. Turns out there was an issue with one of the RCA jacks on the back of the unit. After opening it up, I saw that the metal prongs that go into the jack were getting pushed out when inserting a cable. A little bit of hot glue on the connections and we were back in business, but annoying nonetheless, and not something the average user would have figured out. I think it’s still worth buying if you’re just looking for something a little extra for your setup, but keep in mind it could have some QA issues.

Why does this exist?
This is the most useless piece of tech I have ever purchased, and I want another one. It does nothing but move needles on a dial with colored lights. I don't even have it plugged into anything. It just listens to the room and the needles move to music, or any noise that my body is capable of generating. There are buttons and knobs that you can twist to do really useless things like change the color of the lights. This makes me feel like I know what I'm doing and can understand the readings on the dials... which I can't. People see this device and assume I'm a knowledgeable audiophile. I am not, but the illusion persists because of the glowing dials. The VU22 feels solid and built to last. I can't wait to play with it after work. I miss it, and I think it's mutual. You need one of these. Maybe two in case one gets lonely.

Worked out of the box for about 10 minutes.
I bought this display to relive a little nostalgia from my earlier years when stereos came with VU meters. After reading the reviews, I figured I'd give it a try. I was really looking for to getting this unit. Disappointment ensued when I received the item.I plugged it in and powered it on. It worked properly for about 15 minutes with music playing. The needles would bounce back and forth and would drop to zero in between songs. Then I noticed the left meter needle would drop zero percent when there was no music but the right would stay around 95%. When I turned it off, both needles would drop to zero. Really??!I unplugged it, cycled the power off and on with the same results. I will be returning it to Amazon.

Old-fashioned VU Meters Add Finishing Touch to this Broadcaster's Setup
I worked in "real-world" commercial and public radio for over 12 years. Now, I own an internet radio station that is global and reaches the entire world. I own a high-tech digital media company and most everything I do is digital now. It is, after all, the best quality. Still, the old equipment is still fun to work with and I bought this double VU meter to add to my broadcasting mix so I can see the volume levels when I am broadcasting "live." I love it and it brings back my old days in "real world radio." I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-TV Production/Communications and I can still hear my professors saying, "60-100 with occasional peaks in the red." I may get louder than that occasionally, but this helps me know what I'm doing! Great item for musicians, churches, speakers, and broadcasters! Just plug it in via 1/4" patch cords from your source into the VU meter unit and you'll see it start working. Simple.
