Company promptly sent me a new clock to replace defective one and I am happy with it.
This clock arrived with the second hand loose. I read the instructions which said that if this happened I should open the front of the clock and then press firmly on the....it wasn't clear where exactly I should press firmly. But first I had to open the front of the clock which was not nearly as easy as they said it was. I had to get a really tiny screwdriver (one for eye glasses) and even then opening it wasn't easy. Once I, after considerable effort, finally got it open I pushed on the center post and that corrected the loose second hand. However, after I had replaced the front of the clock I then discovered that the minute hand--which had been fine-- was now loose. At that point I was thoroughly sick of the clock and decided to send it back. Too bad,, it looked like I would have liked it, which is why I gave it two stars.Above is my original review. This is my updated review. After I posted my review the company sent me a new clock. The new one works perfectly, no loose hands of any kind. I am very happy with it. I like that it is easy to read from a distance--my previous clock had a dark colored face and was smaller so was hard to see easily. I also like the light feature; when you push on the snooze button a light comes on. That is handy in the middle of the night. My previous clock didn't have a snooze button which was fine with me, so my only issue with this clock is that I have to pick it up and switch the alarm switch on the back of the clock in order to turn it off. Also with my other clock I could tell by looking at it that the alarm was set because the button on the top was up. With this one, again, I have to check the back of the clock. However, if I had that feature I would not have the light feature so it's a toss up. Anyway, the company was very responsive to my concerns and I am happy with the clock.

Good clock - challenging to set as an alarm.
Not a bad clock. The first one we got had a loud mechanical noise, but Travelwey was great about replacing it with one that was much much quieter (practically silent). The numbers are large and easy to read, the light is bright enough, but a soft yellowish color, so doesn't fully wake you up when you just want to check the time. The alarm is just loud enough, and the snooze button is easy to locate.Despite the brand name, this clock is not a travel clock, they'll tell you that - but I did take mine on a safari with some success. Here are the problems, and potential solutions:The dimensions aren't huge, but a bit bigger than you'd want for travel. However, it is light, and rather tough, so I just tossed it in the duffel bag and hoped for the best. It survived without a scratch. The biggest issue with this being a travel clock is the snooze button - it's also the light button. There is no way to be sure your alarm isn't just burning batteries by powering the light. But, considering the whirring sound it makes, you probably want to take out the battery or put a piece of cardboard (how its shipped) to stop the clock when flying. The clock lasted fine for the 14 day trip, and is easy to set. There is also no "low battery" indicator, so you'll have to replace the batteries frequently to be sure it doesn't die on you at an inopportune time, or have a back up.The issue that brings this clock down to three stars is the alarm setting.First: It's really easy to set, just twist one of the knobs on the back. However, in low light, knowing which knob to twist can be a bit tricky, and if you screw up you've just changed the time. Not a big deal, just practice before you go.And, you'll need to practice, because the alarm time is more of an art than a science. If I set my alarm to 7 am, it would go off when the clock read 7:05. The hashes between hours are also not exact - so if you want 6:30, you have to play a bit with the alarm hand until you have a good idea of when it will go off. I have to test this, but I think there was still a 5 minute variance based on if you had set the time going clockwise or counter clockwise. If +/- five minutes doesn't matter to you - disregard this whole part and tack a star on to my rating.Despite all this - the clock helped us out. It now sits in our guest room, and might even come on our next trip - but if we aren't worried about finding outlets, I'll just use the alarm on my phone.

Overall I am pleased with the clock and the support; updated
The alarm clock functions as advertised: keeps the time, has a loud enough alarm (for me). The light button is helpful. It was delivered as promised and the vendor replied to a question I had very quickly. As others mentioned, the switch that turns of the alarm is in the back and it is hard to find and use. However, by hitting the light/snooze button one can silence the alarm and then worry about finding the switch. The vendor also informed me that a new re-designed alarm clock will be available soon with this flaw fixed. Overall I am pleased with the clock and the support.Update - 05/07/17I took the alarm clock on a long trip and it did a great job being light and reliable. I have been using it since January. Based on the good experience I just got the new improved version, a second one. As promised, it takes care of the previously reported small issues: it requires a standard AA battery, it has one additional red vertical switch (easy to find in the dark) to turn off the alarm and it is somewhat smaller. The numbers are still easy to read and it keeps the time perfectly, which obviously is one of the most important things. The only problem I had was opening the battery compartment, but maybe it is just me. I needed a screwdriver and I was really concerned that I might break something. Luckily I have to do this only very rarely. Support was excellent and the clock comes with a 1 yr warranty. If you need a reliable alarm clock that wakes you up when you need it, is light and can be lit at night, I highly recommend it.UPDATE- 08/30/19The clock functioned with no issues until recently (2.5 years) when the alarm stopped working. I sent an email to Travelwey about this. While the warranty was only for 1 year, they offered to send a replacement with 2 day delivery. I really appreciate it, doesn't happen too often, this is customer service going above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you!

Great clock.
The clock is exactly what I wanted. It's easy to see, easy to set alarm and to adjust time. The snooze function allows me to swat at it in the dark to stop the alarm, giving me 5 minutes to find the on/off slide switch on the back of the unit. It seems sturdy enough. And, it has a silent sweep second hand. It's all good. :-)
