Q: How does this dryer work with short, fine, very wavy hair? Thank you!

I have shoulder length fine, thick, wavy hair. I love this. I danp dry from under the roots and dry the top for styling w a hot tools curling iron. I bought this brand ony hairdressers recommendation.

Q: What is the decibel level on 2nd level?

First I would like to thank you for your question. Bay Water E-Com is a 3rd party retailer for the Hot Tools product in question. What I can confirm is that the hair dryer has been Quiet Mark Certified. Hot Tools claims the product is 30% quieter then the average comparable hair dryer. As far as the decibel level on the 2nd setting I don't know the answer to that. Sorry we could not be of more help. Thank you again for the question Bay Water E-Com

Q: Do the attachments lock in place? Does the diffuser tend to come off when using?

Yes both attachments will lock in place with a screw on fastener. You just insert the attachment into the dryer and rotate clockwise to lock the attachment into position. The diffuser's air tips are made of a softer rubber for comfort. I hope is answer helps you with your question

Q: What kind of heat? Ionic? Ceramic?

The box says "tourmaline ceramic for increased softness and shine." That's the only place I can find anything about it. I hope this helps!
