Great Album, a real treat
Buy this album. You will not be disappointed. I bought it on the strength of two songs, Lady May and Born Again that were featured on season three of Yellowstone. I bought the cd, got a free digital copy available instantly, downloaded it to my Fire and Ipod, and sat back and enjoyed a rare treat, an album that is great from start to finish. Not a bad song on there. Whitehouse Road rocks like old-style southern country-rock, Lady May will make you cry for joy every time you hear it, Born Again is lyrically sublime, and I Swear to God is pure delight. But really, every song is so good you never want Purgatory to end even if heaven is on the other side.

本作が2作目となるケンタッキー生まれの若手Tyler Childersのスタジオアルバムはここ数年一気にアメリカーナ界の顔役となった同郷のSturgill Simpsonがプロデュースしている。 またコ・プロデューサーとしてはそのSturgillやJohnny Cash、John Prineとの仕事で知られるDavid Ferguson、ドラムはMiles Millerが叩いている。 なので方向性としてはオールドなホンキートンク、ブルーグラス、アウトロー。 Tylerによる比較的ポップな楽曲と、フィドル、バンジョー、マンドリン、ペダルスティール、アップライトベースが鳴り響くトラディショナルなカントリーサウンド、プラス今の若者っぽい感性も随所に散りばめられたリリック等、聞きどころ多い。 さすがSturgill Simpsonが全面バックアップするだけあって、なかなか魅力的な若手SSWだ。

Il disco è semplicemente eccellente, Tyler Childers è una delle nuove voci della country music contemporanea, genuino e accorato come si conviene al meglio del genere...lontano anni luce dalla paccottiglia che le major ci propinano come country...lui, Jason Isbell, Colter Wall, Sturgill Simpson e Brent Cobb sono coloro che nobilitano la country music oggigiorno...Il servizio è stato come al solito cortese e tutto sommato buono...purtroppo, e non per colpa del venditore che ha inviato prontamente il disco, il prodotto è arrivato con qualche giorno di ritardo rispetto alla data prevista...penso semplicemente che più di tre settimane per un pacchetto che deve fare il tragitto Germania o Svizzera- Italia sia eccessivamente un tempo troppo lungo...e penso sia da ringraziare il servizio postale italiano...
