Cowboy Hat Holder

Update #2: Subsequently, the seller offered to send me their new design for flatter-brimmed, non-cowboy style hats. I tried it, and it works like a charm. It's just pretty close to perfect. I liked it so much, I bought another one for our other car. These folks have great customer service, and a great product. If you have a hat that you want keep easily available in your car, and still off the seat or the floor, this is the real deal. Highly recommended. Updated: After leaving this review, I was contacted by the seller, offering a refund. I had already returned it, so no problem, but this is great customer service. Also, seller said that they had developed some new designs for other hat styles. Again, good customer service. Seller DID NOT ask me to change my review; I am doing this voluntarily to note their fast and responsive customer service. Original review: The idea for this hat rack is a good one, and the materials & construction are good. It installs easily. The problem is that it doesn't work. Drop the hat in and it looks fine, until you start moving your car forward or hit a bump: then, the hat flips over backwards and lands on the floor or the back seat. This happens with Panama hats, felt fedoras and other medium brim hats. If you have a high crown, extremely wide curved brim hat, it _might_ work, but not for any hat I tried. Maybe if the arms were not so long, so the hat's brim would rest against the seat back, it might work better. That would make it take up less back seat space, too. As it is, it just doesn't work for me. It's a shame, because as I said, it's a nice idea, and well made.

This hat holder is the perfect thing for keeping your hat high and dry in the truck. No more laying the hat on the seat, only to have it slide off the seat onto the floor. The functionality is perfect, it looks great, and installing it was very simple. Overall this holder is a great value for the money!

I have two of them. They work great!

I have an Outback Trading Kodiak 1480. Roughly 14 inches wide. I was always worried about the hat flopping around, or the occasional sitting or stepping on it. The flat brim version of this hat rack is perfect for my hat. Perhaps just a bit wide - inner width of the rack is roughly 16 inches. But the cowboy version my have been a bit snug without bending the brim out of a Fedora configuration. The hold on the headrest posts is good. The mounting rods/clips match up with my headrest posts on my Dakota so the hold is good enough, but not super tight. But after lowering the headrest on top of the clips, there is little play or wiggle. For other vehicle types, your mileage may vary. All said, I like this rack. I'll likely get another one for my wife's hat or perhaps some of my spares.

I own 2 of these and really like keeping my hats off the seat. I used this rack for a while but noticed it was leaving a mark on my very expensive custom felt hat where the crown sits on the wire. This wouldn’t effect a straw hat and probably wouldn’t be noticeable on a dark or black felt hat but it is noticeable on silver belly. Solution: I put 2 pieces of felt together (sticky on one side) to keep the crown off the wire. It gives the hat some stability while in the rack and keep it from getting scars. I do recommend this rack but just know the potential issue before having a mark on your thousand dollar custom hat. I wanted to give the rack 4 stars but it will damage your hat. So until a solution is made to fix it I had to give it 3.

Very good quality and works a treat!

Does a good job of protecting your cowboy hat, but you will lose 1 seat in your vehicle when installed. Easy to install or remove as needed, I wrapped felt around the holder to prevent any dark marks on light colored hats, especially silverbelly. Recommended.

Need to be more adjutable to fit any car, in my car i cut the bars short to fit it. And it can leave marks on the hat if it is dark color.
