Delicious Pies, shame about the delivery!
These are pies that we grew up with in England. They come in a tin, you take the lid off with an opener and put in the oven. The top puffs up like flaky pastry, about 3 inches, and underneath is a soft pasty, some think it is soggy, but it is not, it is what makes a Fray Bentos pie a Fray Bentos pie. Then there is a rich beefy gravy, now this is England, we do not eat as much as here in the USA, so there is little meat filling, so do not expect large chunks like in a Marie Colanders. But it is not fake chewy meat either and they are much nicer, at least I think so.And in England they cost less than $5 so that is why they have little meat in them. Now Amazon please look at the pictures, DO NOT SEND THEM IN A PAPER BAG!! I received a box of gloves in a huge box with bubble wrap and these came in a bag???Buy them and see, do them with chips aka French fries, and bread and butter, and if you dare,... a pickled onion!

Best meat pie!
I love this brand of meat pies! The puff pastry is crispy and the flavor is excellent, I just wish they still had the steak and ale pie available.

These are awful, but convenient...(Make sure you have lots of tomato sauce around)
They truly are awful pies, but, as I was born and raised in the UK, I sometimes like to take a stroll down memory lane and dream of real pies...

Pretty good
These are expensive in the US, but have the advantage of not needing electricity like a frozen pot pie (which needs a freezer and microwave), making it a good food to store for emergencies. It can be cooked in an oven at home, or dutch oven while camping, or can even be eaten as is, though obviously the puff pastry shell won't puff up if it isn't baked. Quite tasty, plentiful meat and gravy, overall a good product, if overpriced.

Next best thing to a fresh steak and kidney
When removing the lid of the tin, I was skeptical! After cooking, I was amazed at how appetizing it looked!I have become quite fond of these pies and keep a few on the shelf for those evenings where no one wants to cook.

Not as good as I remember
I came to US more than 25 years ago, but used to love these in Britain in the 80's. In a fit of nostalgia I bought a few of these, and honestly, like most things they just aren't as good as they used to be.The can seems much smaller. These used to serve two people, but now only one. The puff pastry tastes good and really puffs up as these things are famous for. There is not enough filling anymore though, and appeared to be "separated" after cooking. Definitely not the same taste.

Best Tinned Meat Pie Ever!
If you are American or have never tried these tinned pies before, then don't! You won't like it. You will complain that there's not enough meat, the crust is too flaky, blah...blah...blahHowever, if you were raised in England or have eaten these pies before, then you will be in heaven. These pies are unique and to die for!
