Shoddy quality but video is good.
The video quality is good but there are some problems with the hardware and software. The hardware seems like it would be nice, but mine has a screw loose inside it clicking when I shake it, since it's a fixed mount I didn't bother returning it, but that's a ridiculous defect. In the software I'm trying to setup the profiles and it works as expected except the night vision setting doesn't save along with the rest of the options, so the schedule is useless for controlling that. I went looking for a new firmware and there is none available, so it seems no fix for this. Also note this model has no internal sd and no microphone.------edit, I bumped it up to 4 stars from 3 because it's running smoothly and video feed working great. That's the primary goal of the device, so I feel like 3 stars was too little.

Excellent Camera but is MUCH larger than it looks online.
These Amcrest cameras are extremely nice. The PoE function works very well. I use 5 of these with the UniFi line from UBNT and the 250w switches run these cameras really well.Picture quality is as good as any other high end security camera. Its very simple to install as its just screw it down with 3 screws.Only thing to think about when purchasing this one is the size of the camera. Its massive compared to the IPM4-1024E. I would say almost 2x the size. Its terrible. You might as well put a sign next to the camera that says "Here is my security camera, please knock it down."

NOT water proof! Worked from 9/2019 to 1/2020; 2 more have failed now
The camera was installed on the north side of the house. After a few months, moisture somehow got into the unit and is now very cloudy with moisture on the INSIDE of the lens. Once the moisture is on the lens the camera NO longer sees anything and certainly cannot trigger. I opened a warranty claim with Amcrest for a RMA with a 48-72 hour response time and Amcrest responded within 24 hours and indicated that a $15 shipping fee is required for a return under warranty. Also, they will NOT SHIP the RMA to me until the defective units arrives and then another 5-7 business days to return. A RMA unit will be a re-furbished and NOT NEW. Also, their policy reverts to the original purchase date, so again long term reliability is now in question. I bought six 1P4M-1026EB units with this one failing in under six months. Other cameras I own and installed in the same locations have NOT failed yet. In the meantime, my home is not protected in that area for about two weeks since Amcrest must confirm that the camera sent back is what was requested. So for anyone making a purchase, familiarize yourself with the RMA process and the time required to get everything handled. UPDATE: It is now April 2020 and I am sending the third unit back for a RMA. Therefore, half have failed within six months of implementation and I am an older guy so climbing up on ladders to replace these units is getting old! I will NO longer purchase these units.

Unbelievable quality and field of view at a very reasonable cost.
What can I say. WOW. The picture is amazing. The quality is outstanding. The field of view is huge at 128 degree. It covers the entire problem area of our property. I can practically see every blade of grass in the yard. For just over $100 I can't believe the quality of this picture.Easy setup. Quick and painlessly connected into my Blue Iris system. I believe Amcrest is going to become my staple for cameras. Quality, price, ease and reliability.

Resolution OK for less than 10-100 foot yards. Horrible Warranty, cameras have engineering faults!
The resolution of these cameras are what I consider OK for less than 10-100 foot yards. Night time using the camera's infrared lights, 10-75 feet tops. Although the camera has adequate resolution for >100 to 200 feet or even 300 feet, do not expect to see much detail at all! Clearly, if you need to read license plates, you'll likely need a far better camera. On the flip, these cameras are very affordable and adequate for proving a person's presence, but lacks audio; and as such, most civilian criminal complaints will be dropped without the recorded audio!2021.06.08 ADDITIONALI've had an all Amcrest video system for ~3+ years now. The system works, but with a life expectancy of only one year, with manufacturer's warranty in place. Of course, there is no real manufacturer (Amcrest) warranty, as most scenarios are excluded with the warranty! If something breaks, better off just throwing the camera (or Amcrest units) in the garbage, rather than wasting time spending time/money return shipping, including paying any additional initial insurance/warranties. The quality is only slightly better than obviously cheap plastic cameras, and not significantly better as one would expect with using all metal parts.$100 cameras only last maybe one year until they fail, regardless of using proper electrical moisture resistant boxes, etc.On top of it, the manufacturers making these products nowadays, likely have spent little time on a ladder!A lot of other items are very finicky to work with, such as the software. With a box containing a Linux based operating system, things should be much easier to work with, but after a manufacturer mucks around with it's own features, usually breaks the ease of use of Linux, as well as any other features of using Linux.Save your money and time, avoid paying the extra $10+ insurance to ensure adequate warranty unless you only have a one camera system! Just throw items in the garbage after they break after a year, and spend more time writing one star reviews, until people realize the manufacturing process and expertise used, is similar to that of a high-end plastic web camera, only using cheap (insert a well known Country's name) metal! If I'm not mistaken, made with Chinese parts. A Texas based company apparently designed the units, then manufacturers through China. To reiterate, if you have a 3+ camera Amcrest system, best just to throw away the failed units rather than waste time packaging/documenting return shipping, along with spending +$10 insurance. The manufacturer's warranty has lots of exclusions, although have had trouble free replacement with the additional insurance, after spending a day documenting through insurance company. The failure time period for cameras on my 5+ camera system is about one year. Factor in the time spent on shipping/returns and climbing ladders +12 feet high with products designed for installing at ground level.I dinged one star for: The missing weather proof boot instructions and the weather boots compatibility with shielded connectors. Some minor mounting issues.PROS1) Can be easily painted for camouflaging. Just use masking tape to prevent the front lens cover from over-spray. I'd also suggest removing the bar code stickers and placing the sticker on the underneath of the sun visor. Prior to painting, wipe down the exterior with Acetone or Xylene, etc. Use a combination of light & dark gray spray paints (including gray primer) to camouflage against trees, etc. Although primer does not last long, the cameras are already top-coated and corrosion control is not the issue here. The flat gray primer may wear more appropriately for camouflaging.2) Logo & infrared cannot be deactivated on the NVR units.CONS1) Weather proof connectors are extremely difficult to properly install, due to absolutely no printed instructions within the packaging! Only one weather proof connector is included, if you loose a part of the weather proof connector, you're screwed!2) Weather proof connectors are difficult to use on shielded connectors with shielded CAT-6 cabling! The installer will likely need to fold back the ground/drain clamp on the RJ-45 shielded connector, so that the RJ-45 connector can seat into the Amcrest weather proof connector. (After 8 crimped RJ-45 connectors, I finally realized this was the crux of my problem with getting the RJ-45 connector to seat correctly into the weather proof boot!)3) The camera has some really small and very short screws for the adjustment swivel mount. Three or four turns, and the screw falls out of the threaded hole. The head of the screws strips extremely easy. On the flip, the slots within the head of the screws are large enough to be tooled with a larger phillips screwdriver.4) Due to the previous mentioned problems, this camera can be a hassle mounting and connecting at heights when using a ladder!5) Has an Amcrest logo on the side. Really? I thought these were security cameras? So I painted my exterior cameras, which also camouflaged them into the background.6) Horrible warranty/repair resolution and cameras have engineering faults, guaranteeing breaking. Warranty/repair for Amcrest products is horrid, and will charge repeatedly while making false promises regarding returning phone calls.

Image Quality is great!
Great image quality, poe works great, hiding the cables in a stucco or concrete wall is gonna be difficult and $$$$ you are going to need a big drill bit and they are not cheap. has been installed for 3 months working great 0 problems so far! the angle of the image may took you a few minutes to set up but once you tighten the screws not even hurricane IRMA move itEasy to set up, have blue iris running 24//4 recording on 5 other camerasOn the down side not really a good camera for passing traffic as licence plates are quite hard to distinguish
