Works to Fix Issue with mClassic
Writing to ensure fellow mClassic owners know that this will fix the issue of mClassic not outputting 1440p to a display that supports that resolution! This fixes the issue. I have a Hisense U8, which does support 1440p. However, when I plugged in mClassic, it would only smooth at 1080p. Pretty annoying, given that part of the reason I wanted a new TV was to finally have one that supports the maximum enhancement!Found folks online talking about EDID devices, which I have no idea existed. Picked this and another one (by Woieyeks) to try. Both worked like a charm! In photo here, you can see my display indicating that mClassic is outputting at 1440p, as well as what my setup looks like in the back. Depending on your setup, you may need an HDMI male-to-female extender, like mine, to get the mClassic connected to your console. (If you keep the mClassic plugged directly into the Switch, then no issue. But I like to have it behind the set.) Keeping this one over Woieyeks since I cannot tell any meaningful difference in the picture and this one is a few bucks cheaper.Just wanted to ensure anyone looking for a solution for this problem knew that this works!

Doesn't work with MClassic scaler
Edit: Nevermind, this unit works with the MClassic to scale to 1080p if you connect it in series so example: game console>MClassic>EDID>HDMI cable>TV. I originally connected it to the TV at the end of the HDMI cable. This did it!Decided to pickup a dedicated EDID that works with 1080p. My scaler doesn't play well with 1440p on on my Samsung qled so I wanted to send it 1080p since my HDMI switch seems to work great sending that EDID signal. For whatever reason my scaler does not pickup a 1080p handshake and just passes through a signal rather than scales it. Oh well. I figured this device may have other uses so I may just keep it, but I wouldn't buy it for 4K TVs at least.

Works
Nice aluminum construction and affordable. BAD NO ARC, but it does passthru/allows mpcm dolby-HD.

not working with mclassic
Tried it on multiple tvs that support 1440p. Im aware of the setup of getting it to work with mclassic and the proper order. I even forced ps5 to output at 1440p with just this and a hdmi cable (no mclassic). Idk if its a google tv or a tcl thing but its not receiving picture with this connected. Itl read resolution changes on the tv but this seems to breal picture output idk if tcl is relying hard on hdcp or what but wouldn't show anything connected to mclassic or ps5 forced out put.Note: ps5 showed 1440p picture on the tv without this but with this it did the same as mclassic and black screened.

Works great, fixes HDMI display detection problems.
I've been ordering these hdmi edid devices for a while now. They are almost a necessity if you start using HDMI switches and longer cables. These edid devices have worked great for me. The only little problem is the hdmi ports on this device don't grab the cable's connectors very well. Zip ties and a cable loop are a workaround for that problem.

This little thing can be magic if you cant get your monitor to work
That basically sums it up. Sometimes the EDID codes gets funky and your laptop, Ipad, or whatever can't quite get it together to send a proper signal to a monitor. This little dealy-bob fixes it by forcing the device to output a particular format of HDMI.
